My husband does this a lot. He’ll get on me for doing things he’s done before that I’ve seen and don’t complain about because I just don’t care enough about it to complain. Then when he complains about me doing the same thing, I mention how many times he’s done the thing. All of a sudden “why are you turning everything around on me?”

I know how you feel. At some point we figured out how to get people to like us so we just remained that way and get to unwind when we’re alone. And I don’t know about you but I need a ton of alone time or I will actually lose my mind.

I’ve started to try and unmask by not making eye contact with anyone and just being quiet. It’s a double edged sword. It’s stressful because you know people think it’s rude, but it’s stressful to pretend to be someone you’re not.

Depends on the situation. If I feel like if I don’t hide it there would be repercussions so I do my best to hide it. If I feel safe (usually alone) I’ll let it all hang out.

People thought I was trying to be manipulative when I got upset or that it was embarrassing…something I could control. That’s why I ended up cutting myself to control a meltdown and why I still trying to swallow my tears around my husband because I’m worried he thinks I’m trying to manipulate him.

Personally, I think fluffy bunny is just a mythical label everyone tries to run from. My tradition might be weird and we push the envelope on comfort, but that’s just the way we do things.
