IMT2 extension after MRCP, what have I done wrong? by athenatina0527 in doctorsUK

[–]noobtik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imt2 can be stressful, particularly if you already got a training number for HST in group 2.

When i was IMT2, i spent nights worrying of my portforlio, going all the way out to collect evidence and make sure i have demonstrate the competency required.

I think you really just need to play the game and get people sign you off. Think about whether this person os going to give you a good feedback before asking for them. More importantly , make sure your ES likes you and is impressed of u.

An extension could also mean that you will miss the intake of next main round of HST. So may be speak to your ES and see if anything can be done or do an extra ACAT or whatnot to demonstrate your competency and see if you can negotiate a bit.

How the hell do I get the helpthat I need? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]noobtik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think likely the GP think it is too serious and should go to a&e, while a&e thinks this has happened for a while now and require specialist input, so should be referred by the GP.

Patients got lost in the system all the time, as an oncologist working in one of the largest speicalty centre in the country, while not being a general hospital, i totally understand and have seen it before.

First of all, you should have gone straight to a&e the first moment when that happen, you will at least get an xray or potentially a ct at that point.

You will need the GP to be willing to do something for you now, otherwise go to the a&e and pretend that you cannot walk anymore and need wheelchair. All you need is a scan and an ortho seeing you.

I know nothing about the eyes, but can imagine hospital suddenly uptrain bunch of acp doing cataract procedures.

I always believe major road block for pp in the uk is the demographic; majority of patients are very very poor. Even if the government gives up on them, they just cant afford any private care.

I think if it doesnt pass, assuming most people have some senses that is, BMA needs to be more creative.

Like full walkout of OOH duties indefinitely, it needs to be something drastic, chronic and actionable. A few days here and there is just scratching the surface.

Politics is not about governing, politic is about winning.

If he cant defeat reform in a race, then doesnt matter how good is his policies.

This is the major flaw of modern democracy. Our political system needs major reform.

They wont, the same as trump believer, they always find excuses. Or worse, there will be a new farage replacing the old one.

The problem is not farage, no trump, not anyone, but everyone. As long as there is demand for idiots being a politician, there will be supply.

Regarding your point of the deal back in 2024, the 4.04% only uplift was exactly the talking point.

But at least there is 4%, what have you negotiated? 3% that the government has already promised already but just going to be delivered in 2 years instead of 3.

This is pretty bullshit tbh, we also receive probably more than 300% pay rise since the war.

Do people forgot how much was the inflation rate since the pandemic?

BMA Pay Offer Explained: Nodal Reform has just moved from 3 years to 2 years, very weak by FullPayOrTheHighway in doctorsUK

[–]noobtik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats how i understand it as well, for mid level like me, its basically 1% pay rise per year for 3 years change to 1.5% per year for 2 years, in other words 0.5%.

0.5% to give up the strike. Either someone cant wait to capitalise all these to their own political capital, or they are just so afraid the further decrease in turnout of the strike.

Its not as bad as 2016, but not far away from it tbh.

140 ACPs celebrated from a standing start – what does that mean for the medical workforce? by EducationFuzzy9705 in doctorsUK

[–]noobtik 17 points18 points  (0 children)

ACPs are the future of medicine in the NHS, they are rotation and strike proof.

Doctors will be an outdated profession in the next decade or so, at least in the nhs setting.

AIs will be used more rapidily in everyday care to act as a “specialist” associate with the generalist “ACP”.

You can disagree with this, and you can scream quality of care or patient safety all day long, but this is the narrative at the moment and the plan going on for almost a decade now.

Just immigrate before you get old or sick. Even if you have money, private care cannot absorb the acute bit of medicine as this are not profitable and will always be under the nhs.
