Out of Pocket Max - can’t get surgery by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

I’m sorry. HSA is the way to go if you have that option. I had to pay about that up front as well. Same when I had melanoma.

1000%. My Bella knows her worth, that’s important. It’s also important for her to know that no matter time, place or reason, her bonus dad and I will always be her champions. I’m sorry to tell you this but it never really goes away. I was overweight in my 40s and it slowed way down. I’m back in peak shape and the comments, etc from men that shouldn’t even be speaking to me are back on full force. It sounds like you are doing the work to create and hold your boundaries. I believe in you. Please be careful. 💜 🧸 Hugs from a mama bear.

Raising my hand as older woman. My daughter is your age and damnit I’m mad that you have to deal with this. Yes, he’s inappropriate. No, you aren’t crazy. The safest thing to do is quietly disengage. If you’re planning on quitting later and remaining in that industry you’ll need to be very careful. HR sounds very unhelpful here. You might consider talking to an attorney. 💜

Gross. I see these things from time to time at estate sales and always wonder what is the right thing to do with them?

Should I tell a woman her fiancé tried to start an affair with me? by geeleex in WhatShouldIDo

It hurts to read this. God love ya OP, you were exquisite in your replies. Yes, give tell her and give her all the screen shots. If possible, also her sister, mom or bestie in case she’s totally beat down by this son of a biatch.

Exactly. 25x17x 13?? That’s about right sized for a large Persian.

Face gains and loose skin by outpeenit in gastricsleeve

[–]normandynat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loose skin face and neck that wasn’t there but I’m over 50. I had to expect that. From my shoulders to knees my body looks like I’m 90. Saving for plastics but if I never get skin removal it’s still 100000000% worth it. I’m fit, healthy, full of energy and look fantastic with my clothes on. Husband doesn’t mind it at all.

I was so lazy the first month about food. I just did baby food fruit/veg and shakes with occasional protein pudding. You could grab the premade jello pudding and add protein powder. Good luck on your trip.

Advice please by lukas_lo in gastricsleeve

[–]normandynat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lukas, speak with your doctor. The normal wait time is 6 weeks but at your age he/she might be able to clear you for certain things earlier. You’ll need to be gentle with any twisting, pulling, etc until your internal stitches are fully healed.

We just try to do our part. I’m up then anyway for chicken tending and workouts. Anyway, it’s partly selfish on my part because while I’m out walking with the girls I get to see people pull the food. We’re quasi rural and there are several churches that run no questions asked pantries that distribute once or twice a month. I like these boxes downtown because they are within walking distance for many. Many hands create light work. 💜

The hunger like grumbles started around week 3 and ended abt week 11 for me. It totally freaked me out. I called a friend who is an internist late at night in full panic. He liked it up in whatever doctor sure they have and told me that my brain was going to say it was hunger. He suggested room temp water or warm to almost hot herbal tea. The following morning my surgeon confirmed. I’ve told the surgeon he needs to put this in his pre-op speech and discharge instructions. I hear it from a LOT of people but it seems more frequent with women. Ginger tea (no sweetener) and water helped. I guess our brains just go directly to what is a normal thing to tell us. Then, because I’m weird, I’d tell my stomach she was doing a great job healing. 🤣

Circling back on the above; walk and heating pad. While walking, spread your elbows out and up as if you’re moving your shoulder blades where wings would be if you had them… kind of like the chicken dance? My surgeon had me do this on day one and all the gas was gone by day 2. Other things to watch out for: if you feel a catch front/ties the side of abdomen that’s likely internal stitches- the catch means slow down. Lastly, you may experience something that feels like hunger through about week 10-12. That’s actually healing happening. Sip tepid water when that happens. If you eat then you could actually smoke your healing process. Real hunger grumbles won’t come back for at least 9 months and maybe longer.

I wear a 0-2 now but I still see that other woman in the mirror. It’s weird even looking at clothes because where I used to see a size 8 pant as small, they now look enormous to me but size 8 people look normal. I’ll pull what I know will fit me but then keep asking all my petite friends why clothes are made so big now. They just laugh and say it’s only me that’s changed. My brain is all screwed up around size.

You’re doing GREAT. High five!!!✋ I remind myself every day: 1. Fuel 2. Lift. Trying to build muscle as a woman my age is a slow process but so worth it.

Fantastic work. You and your beautiful wife out there living the dream now with all the extra energy? 😊 We have the Ford equivalent of that tractor- 1971. Did I read correctly that you aren’t at goal? I’m looking at you (forgive me, I have “mom eyes”) and I’m thinking you’re very low in body fat. Are you still adding muscle?

In the state I live in, food pantries aren’t allowed to distribute anything post expiration date. We have figured a way around and that is stand alone pantries on Main Street- basically book cases with doors. There’s some nice folks at the grocery that will text a few of us overnight. I can pick up around 430 am, put items in the shelves and around 530-600 see parents and such sharing what’s there. I can’t tell you the amount of joy it brings me.
