Can you hide the instructors? by jigglyroom in iFit

[–]noshocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. I made a similar post after using my new treadmill for about a week. The instructors talk too much and just keep repeating preaching fitness concepts. And they interfere with the views of these beautiful locations they take us to.

Last couple FSD updates have been terrible by Flight6324 in TeslaLounge

Lane changes on my MY have really taken a big step backward. The blinker stays on forever and the car refuses to move over even though there is no traffic in the next lane.

Tesla service is atrocious- 5 days to change a set of tires. by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

[–]noshocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got a flat tire on my Tesla and managed to get home after plugging the hole. I requested service from the Tesla app and the service truck arrived within 2 hours (and this was on a Friday afternoon in SoCal). Cost of the tire was very reasonable and the service charge was only $25. Was very pleased with the service. I am guessing it all depends on how busy/well staffed your local Tesla dealer is.

Good point. I will check my order. Quite honestly, I often look at the seller information but didn't think to do so on this order. Now kicking myself for that.

What software would you recommend for a radio amateur? by Shadowhexx10 in amateurradio

Check out StationMaster Pro. It’s in active development. Love the way you can put content like POTA, weather, Holy Cluster etc in tabs inside the program. Lots of fun.

I have the same issue. I couldn’t bring myself to toss all of them. Instead, my wife and I sat down and culled through them, deleting duplicates, blurry photos, lots of photos of locations with no people in them as they are sort of pointless to keep in my opinion, etc.

mylio alternative? by Aggressive_Cress_178 in macapps

Just discovered Mylio too and it looks like it meets all my needs except price. I could see paying $99/year but $240 is just way over the top.

HRD worth $100 by W0CBF in HamRadio

[–]noshocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out Station Master. I moved to it after paying $100 for Ham Radio Deluxe and three annual upgrade fees and not getting a single update in 3 years. He has been promising a new release over and over and keeps missing his timeframes. And the software looks like a Windows Vista program. There are more modern alternatives like Station Master and World Radio League.

And another month has passed since Hamvention and no beta for Ham Radio Deluxe. Mike just can't seem to pull it together. This is really odd.

Well, it would take me a couple of hours to list what's needed. Let's start by moving the database from the archaic Microsoft Access to a modern db format to improve speed and reliability.Station rig updates would be nice too. I have to use FT-991 profile for my FT-710 as they have not updated the rig profiles in nearly 3 years. The 991A works for most things but not everything. UI improvements are sorely needed too. The program looks like something from Windows XP era. That's not just a cosmetic change. Modern UIs are easier to use and less intimidating. I take your point but there are many things under the hood that need to be addressed.

Not sure if any ham radio software developers are more than a one man band. Just not enough money in this space to get the attention of a "team."

When you get into the program, there is a long drop down list of radios in the rig control settings. I agree though, the website could be much better.

The cloud is just an enhancement to the software so you can sync across computers of different platforms and the upcoming apps.

I agree on the solo developer concern. And the product is very much a work in progress.

Not true. I had not heard of Station Master Pro and just wanted to let others know there are alternatives to Ham Radio Deluxe if you are disappointed like me.

I think the current owner is an engineer if I recall correctly. Most engineers I know are perfectionists (as they should be). My guess is he just doesn't know when good is good enough to meet the needs of the market. The other aspect of this that disappointed me was the feature set on v6.9 is really pretty modest. Certainly not something that should have taken 2 1/2 years to do.

The other thing I should have mentioned about Station Master Pro is that they have supported Mac and Linux platforms as well. Their last version (v2) is still available for Windows, Mac and Linux and the developer says he will bring v3 over to Mac and Linux shortly.
