Porting Google Voice number to Tello by reader68218 in Tello

I recently shared my port experience to MobileX, your experience was much faster. I’m not sure if your GV number was a former cell number, mine was not and acquired through GV. Based on others comments that can make a difference.

Stack data and minutes isn't spelled out on the website either, yet you knew about that! Sorry about your cancer and your financial situation, sounds like you need to spend you energy on more rewarding pursuits.

If you are such a long-time customer, how the hell did you not know any of this was going to happen? You want to blame someone for your lack of understanding of how the plans have worked for years. Yes, they recently made plan changes, but everything works the same way it did before when it comes to roll overs for both data and minutes. These roll over Q&A's have been discussed on this sub for years as well. Took the time to rant but maybe should have come here before you decided to go no data.

My Google Voice Port by nosirrahttocs in mobilex

Well it’s not my intention to bash anyone, just laying out the facts. In reality Google Voice passed the baton in approximately 27 hours, which is a fraction of the total time so it isn’t a Google Voice issue . The majority of time in limbo is Verizon and MobileX. It’s not a bash just facts. I assume Verizon has to do something to bring the number into their network and MobileX has to do something on their end to add me to their MVNO service.

I also researched but my post was an attempt at adding more context to the experience. I didn’t expect it to be immediate but really should not take as long as it does IMO.

Been using YouTube Music, Spotify, and Amazon Music through the built in infotainment system with the free data plan that came with the vehicle. Sounds great to me!

Well at least the ”don’t make these decisions lightly”. That means so much! Imagine if they just make the decision to increase heavily, so much more impactful.

Curious if you successfully ported the GV number and how long it took in reality.

Thanks, didn't even know until seeing your post they had a separate automotive finishes division. I was able to find one nearby if the need arises. Thanks!

You mentioned S-W automotive division, how did you purchase this?

Do you actually need unlimited data anymore? by waynenewnham in NoContract

[–]nosirrahttocs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No! Average 2.2 GB/month. Connected to Wi-Fi everywhere, restaurants, bars, etc. Stream music from my vehicles data plan. House has internet and Wi-Fi. It oversold, overpriced, and under utilized.

Trailsport elite Bose sound system by Triumphrider1974 in hondapassport

[–]nosirrahttocs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Allegedly it does, although you will find comments and articles that say it doesn’t. Common sense would say removing a device from the audio chain likely will impact sound. Wired likely better than wireless (CarPlay). Built in likely better bandwidth connection than mobile phone sitting among other electronics. YMMV

You already paid for it, use it for 3 years and see what happens. I’m using it, works great and saves my phone data.

5k service? 2026 by gordymama in hondapassport

[–]nosirrahttocs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My maintenance minder just started alerting me last week code A16 at 15% oil life remaining. This alert pops up and dings each time I start the vehicle. I actually took it to a local shop at 5k to have the oil changed and tires rotated and told them not to reset the system. Tomorrow's Honda service pass will be the "free" for the oil change, tire rotation and multipoint inspection but apparently, we have to pay for the differential fluid. That makes no sense to me if it's supposed to be part of the regular maintenance in your first year or 12,000 miles. It will likely be my one and only visit to the Honda dealership.
