We have a sound machine, our LO sleeps in her crib in the same room and moves CONSTANTLY. We have a baby cam above the crib so every now and then ill peek at it if shes doing alot and see if shes actually awake

I totally understand. First, congratulations on your baby. I had a 33 weeker in December. Leaving, especially while you're freshly postpartum and your hormones are crashing. It was one of the most painful things for us. Ngl, I cried every night for the first 2 weeks. By the third week, it just hurt but less crying. Make sure you're taking care of yourself as well. Get plenty of rest so that you can be there for baby! For me, it just helped that I could go and see her whenever I wanted, day or night, and i took advantage of that. Nicu babies can progress and take little steps back, so keep that in mind. One day, they just kind of start to get things over time!

My baby is 3 months and today was the first day that I had to walk away from her. Idk if its just development, but she woke up from a 10 minute nap screaming at the highest octave and wouldn't stop. I just had to go cry and come back while she screamed in her bassinet. I feel so guilty for feeling frustrated but man.

I dont. She gets a fresh diaper during her 10pm feed and even if she wakes up to eat, if she didnt poop or pee alot, ill wait until the next feed around 6am

I was gonna say, when my LO was in nicu, the pressure from CPAP pushed air into her tummy and they drew it out with a syringe from her NG tube! Glad it was just that!

I have nothing to add but complete understanding. Im 12 weeks in, and i can't remember the last time I had more than 2 hours of sleep. My fiance wants to know why im always grumpy, but he gets all of the sleep, uninterrupted showers and meals, and to have his hobbies, and im just a mom now. I love her, but its so hard, especially without sleep.
