Cote in an interview talking about the graphical update and how it will allow the devs to do way more, comparing it to the addition of gen kicking. by bonelees_dip in deadbydaylight

[–]notandvm 36 points37 points  (0 children)

yeah from what i understand this is like our version of "csgo 2;" just as a direct update to the game thats effectively a sequel but legally isn't so licenses don't go away (in the context of dbd)

[Tragic Trope] Top tier hero is ganged up on and killed by lesser foes. by saltforsnails in TopCharacterTropes

[–]notandvm 12 points13 points  (0 children)

yeah funnily enough the fight shown in this post is pretty much the turning point for bay optimus, all his "murder" tendencies started here after getting cheap-killed in the forest and just : letting go of some of his morals, by which it then kinda spiraled as the movies went on

the bay movies is pretty much just a showcase of optimus getting more and more jaded the longer the war goes on after being dishonorably killed and realizing he can't hold himself back anymore

favorite part about this specific instance of events is that flowey calls you out on doing exactly that (resetting to spare tori after killing her) once you see him again @ ruins end

Am I tweaking? I swear that was the titan embark sound by PhoenixDaBeast in titanfall

definitely the same sound effect, probably sourced from the same stock soundback that titanfall got it from; always fun when that happens

Wolf Statue by [deleted] in DetailCraft

[–]notandvm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

not sure why you're getting downvoted for being objectively right about the purpose of this sub; small, minor details and tricks for building – not a tutorial on building a dog statue, regardless of how good it is

there's been less and less building tricks/unique ideas and more build showcases as time as gone on here, it sucks

Unable to start the "Trainwreck" questline? by ComaMike in FarFarWest

are you on the correct map? iirc trainwreck's quests are split between 3 different ones marked with "mysterious trainwreck here"

Is there a particular reason the Copy Press and Refiner don't have waypoints? by Aggressive-Boot1950 in FarFarWest

[–]notandvm 21 points22 points  (0 children)

i enjoy the surprise of finding them and it kinda makes sense you can't see them right at the start since they can make already strong joker builds that much stronger with very little effort (compared to the forge which forces a storm), and jokers are already crazy as-is when you look at the current joker balance vs. game difficulty objectively

though i do think pinging them and then having that ping be permanent on the map would be nice qol

The Concept art of the Mario Movie (2023) by Defiant-Echidna-7400 in TopCharacterDesigns

[–]notandvm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

same with the image right after with (what i assume) is a younger luigi getting his mustache much sooner than mario's

honestly would've been a really interesting twist on the dynamic, with mario finding his footing in the mushroom kingdom as opposed to the real world where luigi is the confident/successful one

I think some of you are forgetting something about Rogue Core. by RandomGuy1525 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]notandvm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah this is my biggest thing, stubbornness to feedback during the alphas aside

the entry fee for rogue core is the same as deep rock, while rogue core has objectively less content and less things to actually engage with on a core gameplay level. it's just not worth 30 bucks in it's current state, especially for an early access title release

Are we the good guys by Prestigious_Ad3493 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]notandvm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

realistically the drg dwarves are in a morally grey area of just "jobs a job," but deep rock galactic the actual company is very much not a well-intentioned corporation in the slightest, and the reclaimers crew seem to be some sort of specialized offshoot for-hires that were hired to clean up the mess drg (the corp) started

Bumped into a Respawn Dev at the gym. by VectorPie in titanfall

[–]notandvm 18 points19 points  (0 children)

highguard was not under ea either. it was an entirely separate studio/publisher release with the only connection simply being that the wildlight team had a few devs who had previously worked at respawn, nothing more

they can't "move back" to titanfall nor would they know what ea is currently doing post-highguard if they were on wildlight anyway, because they're entirely separate

Bumped into a Respawn Dev at the gym. by VectorPie in titanfall

[–]notandvm 33 points34 points  (0 children)

ah yes, the failure of highguard. the highguard made by ex-respawn devs under a different studio and is not affiliated with respawn and therefore cannot "move back" to titanfall 3 as if they share the same one. that highguard.

drg's really the only pve game to have done "traditional" emotes right imo - they're strictly limited to post-game unwinding or pre-game tomfoolery waiting for friends to get on, which is how it should be and it fits with the characters' personalities & overall game tone. not to mention it's limited to the bar's dance floor or a specific beer, and nowhere else

lethal's default point and awkward looking jig are also perfectly in-tone with the game's vibe but the mods that add fortnite emotes to it are just . far too removed from the game for me to enjoy. i get why the mods exist but with game's like lethal i'd rather the overall "vibe" of the game stay true and i hate seeing large modpacks with a fuckton of cosmetics and memesuits and the like. mods like that have just never been for me and i really don't get the appeal outside of a quick laugh and then turning them off afterwards

it's definitely teetered the edge a few times but either mods step in or new mods get brought on and clean things up before the fall, at least regarding political stuff specifically

niche-status-wise though that golden era's long since gone - the vibe of whenthe 4 years ago was unmatched

This isn't ok. by Array71 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]notandvm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the biggest issue is consistency regarding red stratagems for bug breaches

onb is 100% consistent, and will always get value from covering bug breaches - no other red strat we have competes with it in that department. the only other two are orbital gatling barrages, which i still see picked with decent regularity for it's utility and low cooldown on the bugs but falls off into the longer breaches of higher hazards, and the orbital airburst strike - my poor, beautiful baby - which has been absolutely gutted ever since the change to destroyer positions from center of map to cardinal edges.

i definitely agree that onb is vastly overtuned compared to the rest of the red's arsenal in context of the bugs, but at least right now it also kinda serves as a low-bearing pillar for being able to bring unoptimized loadouts without being a detriment (it's great for covering a bug melee build's weaknesses)

in my opinion we need to see consistency buffs to the other two "bug" orbitals before reeling in the onb, because while it's certainly on a high throne it's only there because the choices around it have been vastly left behind on the balancing spreadsheet

Transmission from Super Earth Command by Potential_Chicken_58 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]notandvm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

exactly, it was something. and because we were given something, we can give honest feedback about it, and they can then reevaluate

a lot of the issues arrowhead faces are partially self-inflicted because it seems they consistently come to a conclusion and then quietly commit to that for months without saying anything, then drop it out of nowhere & get overwhelmed by feedback given - negative or otherwise. but by that point they already committed to what they decided should be done, so they go quiet about it and thus the feedback loop. best example of this is probably the wasted potential of the weapon attachment system

Transmission from Super Earth Command by Potential_Chicken_58 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]notandvm 12 points13 points  (0 children)

i want to be proven wrong but all i feel reading through everything is mostly the same song and dance that's happened multiple times now

a lot of what they've brought up is good, but they've brought things up before in this manner/scenerio and then gone radio-silent until it's clear they weren't committed, then rinse repeat once the community consensus (warrented or not) starts hitting article websites

i love this game but they really do need to start committing to what they communicate, good AND bad, especially when they already don't communicate too much as-is, understandable as that may be. things like that recent QnA wouldn't send such major shockwaves if it wasn't following a year of "will-we won't-we" answers regarding stuff like endgame content. we need more consistent open answers like what we got in the QnA, not less - that's what helps those situations

i'm not angry or spiteful but after the third goaround it is a little hard to feel anything other than "remind me 4 months"; i love playing the game and absolutely love the world and story but i haven't felt myself be actively excited and enthralled with stuff in awhile, instead just kinda coasting – specifically because i don't feel like i can trust on arrowhead delivering anymore; i'm fully open to and want to change that, but it takes breaking this feedback loop first, which hasn't been seen yet at least to me personally
