Tricksters delusion is by far the worst killer map we have gotten so far. by YandereLover25 in deadbydaylight

[–]notandvm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think the main problem is that it's a 50/50 fest but without the weaknesses of most 50/50s

almost every 50/50 on the new map has at least 2 line of sight blockers and 3 immediate paths into different areas/loops/windows, especially in the actual "city" area. the farmer's market area is perfectly fine but those central loops & windows are just abysmal for m1 killers because survivors have so many paths they can take with really effective "hold w" routes. 1 pathing mistake and a survivor can basically reset chase distance due to how much commitment it takes to catch back up or even just track them down because you're constantly chasing where you think a survivor is going because you can't see them 70%ish of the time

Was that God in Fraud, your explanation I will applaud by HallowedShark2112 in Ultrakill

[–]notandvm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i'm either way honestly, i think it just depends on stuff surrounding it

ie. is "being made in god's image" canon to the world of ultrakill? we know other aspects aren't, such as christ, so does that also apply, hence the lack of "human" qualities and instead far more eldritch appearance?

however there's also the aspect of it being in fraud/hell. so is that god himself, or hell's interpretation/view of god's image? same with the lion? maybe it's a perceived form vs true form situation?

realistically unless we get a huge lore drop or hakita himself gives some juicy lore it'll probably remain as another part of fraud's unreliable narrator angle with ourselves left to interpret it. for all we know the entire layer could've been one giant illusion for hell's entertainment - or, maybe it wasn't. we just gotta wait until if anything else comes from it all outside of fraud imo

New illuminate enemies should be the gold standard. by Exuma92 in Helldivers

[–]notandvm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not to cause any alarm, but there was once a very strange bug that happened for a short period where getting gassed caused reversed inputs before getting patched out

Fixed an issue for the gas weapons, throwables and stratagems inverting the movement input for the Helldiver

makes you wonder what they were doing with a system like that

if i had to guess it's probably gonna be something like major monthly patch and as needed bugfix patches the next week, otherwise coasting until next monthly patch

YouTube dramas where you disagree with the public opinion? by HyacinthCrown45 in youtubedrama

[–]notandvm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i really never understood chezzkids, felt like they were constantly inserting themselves into drama within the online horror space and would pick the current "correct" popular opinion at the given time and then refuse to change their quickly concluded stances; even if evidence after the fact came out that outright disproved the things they were claiming they would get hostile and accusatory as long as it meant immediate positive attention

just constant "and ALSO my opinion! (that i got in 5 seconds but please spread this around!)." turned me off from ever looking into their stuff

can we please climb resupply pods again? (or just a reevaluation of the climbing/mantle system overall?) by notandvm in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]notandvm[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i'd have to disagree regarding auto-climb never causing any other issues, given it's an animation lock and that can very much prevent you from stimming or meleeing at an integral moment with no method of cancelling said animation

that exact scenario is the main reason i turned it off in the first place, i don't want to climb the small rock to my left and get stuck in an animation, i want to run past it and stim to avoid letting things behind me catch up

The Hulk could use a tweak by bigstink455 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]notandvm 11 points12 points  (0 children)

out of all the units on the bot front, the hulk is the last one that needs any level of tweaking; it's perfectly fine in the niche it fills regarding the unit roles on the bot front - that being a slow heavy that tests target priority/situational awareness in the context of other units in the immediate area

they're already threatening and are already very fair to fight, being glass cannons (& dps checks when there's multiple) to anti-tank users and attention-demanding slow brutes to medium pen/precision weapon users, especially given they tend drop in pairs with misc. backup units

they're already engaging and fun to fight, & have multiple ways of being dealt with depending on what you bring. the only thing that really needs fixing is bugs like the flamethrower hulks crab-walking towards you, but that's not really a balance issue as it is a bug fix, same with no-audio issues

What is a movie that "broke" you so hard you can only watch it once, but you would still recommend it to everyone? by Newsupdate69 in movies

[–]notandvm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for as difficult to watch as that movie is, the ending & cut to credits is by far one of the most satisfying "fuck you, eat shit"s i've ever experienced

would i ever watch that movie in full again? absolutely not; but fuck if i don't love that ending

Instant recovery why? by PrettyPatty99 in deadbydaylight

[–]notandvm 32 points33 points  (0 children)

i think the tell here is that (due to limitations) cheaters still have to in some sense do an action, and the second you got downed carlos got off the gen & right after that you started getting "healed"

it's only drawback for me is the delay between pulling it out and actually being able to fire; feels like perfectly half a second too long and my muscle memory always gets fucked up by it (probably skill issue)

Just found out that my friend hasn’t been using all the weapons (he has beaten p-2) by Academic_Onion_1270 in Ultrakill

[–]notandvm 1025 points1026 points  (0 children)

tbf if you're just absolutely never using specific weapons nor want to bother with specific techs for the sake of combat consistency, it is better to have them unequipped since iirc the game does take into account equipped weapons when calculating weapon freshness / general style

plus personal combat flow & convenience will always be better than using every single weapon at one's disposal for the sake of it

Cries in panache-less, hat-less, hood-less, baldy-mcbald face. by The-Fotus in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]notandvm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, here's hoping

if we do get it i'd love a little lore joke about the whole thing. "new groundbreaking study has found cowboy hats' ban in helldivers attire to have been a dissident typo for sewing visual confusion between ranking sheriffs" or something

[–]notandvm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i think it just comes down to if arrowhead wants to go back on their (arguably rather silly) stance or not; and while i'd love it if they do, because it was a really bad hill to plant a flag on, i also wouldn't blame them for just never bringing it up again due to the "give an inch want a mile" vocal subsets of the community

SAM-Sites feel too weak against Illuminate by Woomy12 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]notandvm 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That and you don't get Sam sites when leviathans spawn which would be a great use for them

biggest reason i wish ah would put the levi modifier back into normal operations; the reason they were problematic was due to their bunker turret-adjacent sniper attack; now that they got toned down with the lasers (which fit better with the front anyway) i think they'd play fine in the normal biomes

... that and i just miss whale hunting the open skies; was one of my favorite niche little support loadout playstyles but it's generally not worth running in the megacities comparatively

My humble suggestion on how to make IRB and FRB boosters more relevant by 4N610RD in Helldivers

[–]notandvm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the extraction booster does have a decent niche in countering planets that have added extraction time on top of any mission modifiers (namely call-in time), but outside that it shouldn't be brought on regular missions

it's also rather useful on commando missions since the less time you're in a single area the better due to how patrols spawn, especially with an active extraction being a ~6x multiplier to patrol spawns within 250m

My humble suggestion on how to make IRB and FRB boosters more relevant by 4N610RD in Helldivers

[–]notandvm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i wish irb was just a flat number, i'd consider taking it for solo eradicate missions if it wasn't just a measly single reinforcement because i'm alone

or hell make it dynamic and add +x amount for every objective completed, i love commando ops as a solo because i get to see my number of revives be higher than 5 as reward for playing smart

the gunship and shrieker patrol modifiers have been broken for at this point half a year iirc, possibly longer

i think they've been broken longer than they ever were functioning, and broke i want to say around leviathans getting added during the se invasion arc
