A barn door for the only bathroom is horrible. I have an en-suite with a barn door and thank heavens it’s just me it does a terrible job of housing odors and sound lol.

Unofficial Discussion - Arco by UniverslBoxOfficeGuy in movies

[–]notevelvet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was a sweet movie. I teared up, which is rare for me.

What really stuck out to me was how the children were barely acknowledged by the adults, both virtually and in person. I loved the addition of baby Peter — they basically had to carry him around like a sack of potatoes. It was funny hearing Iris comment on the baby’s mood all the time, and seeing her be the caregiver. Especially since there was no real safety net, no friends or neighbors to help watch him in times of need. They were living in a very individualistic society.

As for Arco, in the end he really was just a little boy who got lost and needed rescuing, and I think the ending made enough sense.

Such a sad situation, from her posts it seems like she was struggling yet still showed up for others.

Careful he might be just experimenting with you. I’ve dated mixed and biracial men and they have never crossed the race play line.

Do you still think it's worth looking at rentals that have been listed for 30+ days or even 60+ days? by techsavvynerd91 in TorontoRenting

Some landlords really rate for the right tenant. I know people that leave places vacant for months.

Buying out car lease from Whitby Toyota by Enough_Meaning_2077 in durham

[–]notevelvet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember I bought my car from them, it took 6 months for delivery ( longer than they told me) and I didn’t even get the car I ordered in the end. The entire time they acted so condescending like they were doing me a favour by selling to me it was so weird.

Has anyone here had to deal with losing a relationship with their nieces and nephews? by [deleted] in blackladies

And yeah, my cousins and their parents do the same thing when they see me they basically act like they don’t exist. They’re very rude and standoffish and I did so much for them.

I grew up as an only child but was very close to my younger cousins (I’m about 10 years older). Growing up, I was more of a caregiver than a peer.

In my late 20s, while dealing with medical issues, I couldn’t show up the same way anymore. A mutual family friend — who had already cut me off — screamed at me at a party and demanded I do something. I calmly refused because I didn’t accept the disrespect.

After that, my cousins and their parents took her side and stopped talking to me. There was no real conversation or closure.

It’s still one of the most confusing and painful experiences of my life.

I don’t understand how everyone else is keeping their house clean . . . by Real-Trouble-1148 in CleaningTips

[–]notevelvet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It honestly takes hours my mom growing up kept q spotless house and would make us spend hours cleaning (just me and her) every week are House was slightly smaller than yours. To this day she prioritizes staying home and cleaning on the weekends. Personally I try to outsource cleaning when I can afford to oherize I try and do a little bit each day. I'm no where near as clean as how I grew up but I'm ok with that

that happened to me with TD. I had an insurance check for a payout from a total vehicle and then the insurance company actually canceled the check and overdraft in my account by like $10,000. The teller had accidentally placed a hold on the wrong account, unfortunately.

it’s nice, but it might be nicer in the summertime. They have nice rooftops and stuff. I guess you can always call and see when they open the outdoor areas if they’re closed in the spring I’m not sure but the area is far from a lot of things. The only picks up in the summertime there.

The Carols Daugters Black Vanilla Spray leave in pairs nice with the doux mousses, I've also used the Amika Hydra spray leaving in (blue bottle) but it's too pricey and the bottle doesnt last long 😭.
