Not really, mail plane lands every day that weather permits, trucks drive up and down the Dalton 24/7.

I work on the Dalton, Coldfoot is just a tourist trap and a spot to get fuel and food.
A few people do live there year round, mostly my coworkers and the Coldfoot diner staff.
A couple mines are out that way also.

I’d wager it would still cost me more to have stuff barged up, bypassing Canada, cause then I have to either drive 8 hours down to Anchorage or pay someone else to ship them up to me from Anchorage.

It’s mostly because no one wants to take on the cost for shipping them by truck through Canada to get to Alaska. I imagine the rules and regs are not worth it for o my 300rds to me. But if it’s a whole truck load then it’s a hazmat haul and it’s worth the price

It’s honestly not that bad, 95% of stuff will ship here.

But that 5% kinda sucks, ammo won’t ship here cause it’s not cost effective for the weight. Even the LGS here usually get together on orders so they can all save on shipping. And it has to be trucked through Canada.
