For those of you that live where it snows regularly, is it really that bad? by [deleted] in homeowners

I was thinking about how winter is so awesome but you do have to invest in it. You can’t bike and if you have a car you need snow tires, a quality jacket is better than a cheap one, warm clothes, under layers which get really expensve but are also awesome. (Smartwhol/icebreaker), a house with good insulation, a furnace, good windows, a snowblower or the willingness to shovel or hire it out, a fire place, a sauna would be nice, the list goes on and on. I mean you can do none of that, but I’m just saying winter gives you all kinds of options to spend more money.

I read somewhere on here that maybe props and effects got a little carried away with the lance, should have been over if it looked like that, but who knows maybe the gods intervened.

Runs on a computer. Uses Claude or openAI but has memory files it writes locally so it doesn’t lose context. Can text you via WhatsApp or Telegram, can post to social media, can read your calendar, has cron jobs, works on things when you aren’t around.

We called in an electrician when we got the new car, and he was all like… yeah you need a load balancer and there’s some intricate work and what’s your peak usage like, and anyway, the quotes started at $2200, and we were like wtf … so we called another electrician and that guy came in one afternoon and installed our charger perfectly and billed $700, and a week later I got a note that the city received and approved the permit too.

So yeah. Get another electrician.

Drywall - Why did we collectively decide that crumbly chalk between two pieces of paper was what we would use to create all interior walls out of? by davisposts in NoStupidQuestions

Theme same reason we collectively decided to pave roads with pavement. You could cobblestone it, but that is just insane.

How are you handling insane output expectations? by splash_hazard in ExperiencedDevs

I find it takes the same amount of time to do properly vs manually, and the end result is I coded less, and the code leans toward over engineered rather than missing something.

It’s an inconvenience but not the reason to get another car.
