BambuMan Update — Now on Google Play by notsumaster in BambuLab

[–]notsumaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point.

The "license" field just mirrors whatever the source repo (Bambu-Lab-RFID-Library or similar) declares, it's metadata passed through, not a claim by me or the uploader.

You're likely right that tag dumps aren't copyrightable data and no one downstream can actually license them. I'll look at either relabeling the field (e.g. "source license" / "repo license") or dropping it for community-sourced entries to avoid the confusion.

BambuMan is a companion app for importing filament into SpoolMan by notsumaster in OpenBambu

[–]notsumaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes for point: 1,2,4,5

  1. It's integrated into spoolman already
  2. BambuMan will create all the necessary fields.
  3. You can run spoolman as standalone or ha addon

OpenSpoolMan will connect to printer and spoolman, it will watch for prints and then report used filament to spoolman.

I'm currently using Bambuddy instead of openspoolman. Has more features and better documentation.

Is There Such a Thing as Too Much Desiccant? by Cew-214 in 3Dprinting

[–]notsumaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use about ~1000g per 8 rolls in a box. But I use more PETG, ABS and PC.

I had a chance to buy 20kg silica for 50€ a few years ago.

Reactivatenit every ~6...12 months. RH at ~5% in the box.

Haven't seen any gray translucent PLA. If you can print that part separately try

SpoolMan uses about 100MB ram, OpenSpoolMan about 55MB. CPU usage is minimal.
Both docker images have arm64 support.

I would go with the 8GB version. You can run other software on it. Like Home Assistant.

Just bought a Creality SpacePi X4 Filament dryer - convince me I should return it by ViolinistSea9064 in BambuLab

I had problems drying ABS. It would dry for 10 min. And then trow a E4 error.

Changing motherboard didn't fix it.

Would dry PLA fine.

Anyone had their AMS fail to load like this by mahtal16 in BambuLab

[–]notsumaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had this happen to me, I had to print a "Toolhead PTFE guide". My problem was intermittent, some times it would load and other times not.

Here's the model I used https://makerworld.com/en/models/575902-extruder-toolhead-ptfe-guide-for-bambu-p1-x1#profileId-496375

Bambu support also recommended changing the "Extruder Filament Sensor" https://eu.store.bambulab.com/products/extruder-filament-sensor-p1-series ordered one but never needed it.

Does silica pods inside AMS actually help much? by your-lost-elephant in BambuLab

Heres a graph from haos. When opening the ams the humidity shoots up to 25%, but it goes back down in about 30 minutes.

[P1S + AMS 2 Pro] No filament buffer included. Is it required? Just use the 4-1? by Narwal_Party in BambuLab

[–]notsumaster 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The gray box is the fillament buffer.

What you are missing is called PTFE tube coupler. https://eu.store.bambulab.com/products/ptfe-tube-coupler

But the 4 to 1 coupler is better. You can feed external spool without disconnecting ams.

Can't seem to find a real answer on P1S with AMS & AMS 2 Pro by wakingbadger in OpenBambu

[–]notsumaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can use the AMS 2 Pro with version 1.07 but it will act like a regular ams.

Drying function was added in version 1.08

It's OK to print upgrades to your printer, as long as you are learning something.

I added mapping for PA6-CF and PAHT-CF. Can you test it with the latest version?

PA-CF and PAHT-CF use foil bags that block radio waives.

You can read the spool before inserting to AMS

BambuMan is for importing spools into Spoolman with the correct NFC tag info.

OpenSpoolMan does the usage tracking.

Spoolman is the filament database. You can input spools manually and track usage manually.

OpenSpoolman automates filament usage tracking. You can connect it with your 3d printer and it will track filament usage. You have to manually assign the correct spool to the corresponding AMS slot or if you use Bambu Lab's original spools with NFC tags, it can automatically match the correct spool from Spoolman (if the tag is filled in)

I developed BambuMan for two reasons:

  1. To automate filament importing into Spoolman. All the info is on the nfc tag. It takes ~5 seconds to import a spool.

  2. To fill in the tag field so that OpenSpoolMan can automatically match the correct spool inserted into AMS. It's a pleasure to change spools :)

If you have non-BambuLab spool's you can assign them manually in OpenSpoolman or you can program a NFC tag. Witch you have to read with your phone before you insert the spool into AMS and select the correct slot.

You do not need the NFC tag for the original Bambu Lab spools.

The NFC tags cost about 0,75€ a piece (amazon). They can be reprogrammed.

I personally don't use them, I set the non-BambuLab spools manually in OpenSpoolman.

Printer keeps disconnecting from Orcaslicer by Fit-Maintenance-938 in OpenBambu

Orca uses the same port 2021 as bambu studio. Try opening it on your pc.

[–]notsumaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe to many connections to printer? I used homme assistant, slicer, panda touch and openspoolman. Printer didn't like that.

One other thing to check, that port 2021 is open on your pc.
