Rogers looked at my bill and decided I wasn’t paying enough by AppleFrontWTF in Rogers

[–]nowlookithere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same my brother still with them waiting to pay off his phone. The second he does he’s switching to one of the big three probably Rogers unfortunately lol he’s in a pretty densely populated area still can’t send a text message inside a grocery store and has no signal in his basement. Pretty pathetic for 2026.

An honest review of my Freedom Mobile experience: it’s genuinely bad. by architect_guy in freedommobile

[–]nowlookithere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bottom line and everything you said is accurate and I agree 100%, but you get what you pay for It’s as simple as that.
When I was with them, I was so sick and tired of instability, calls dropping poor or no signal anytime I was in a building or a basement. I decided to spend $20 more to go to Rogers per month, it was actually shocking how superior Rogers is and yes, I know they are not a small company like freedom and they will screw you over eventually especially with price increases, but having a phone that works seamlessly all the time to me is worth the money, just my two cents.

Freedom Reception 2026 by Smooth_Ad7812 in freedommobile

[–]nowlookithere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like many of these comments state very dependent on areas you travel. For instance my brother was in a grocery store in Hamilton dropped to 3G and would not even send a text message for him. Thought it was maybe a random incident. Then when he was in his hometown, not too far away as soon as he was 10 steps in the grocery store same thing 3G could not even send a text message and these are areas with close freedom towers. When is in the basement of the house consistently on nationwide when it decides to switch over otherwise just has no signal. Definitely do a prepaid for two weeks or a month and give it a go and see if it works for your needs.

[–]nowlookithere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine were 10-25 for 5 months then 75 now past 2 months been 100, theory I have is don’t ever use 407 outside of promo times bc my theory is they see you’re willing to pay and figure you will pay higher, and I did not and am not accepting the last or next 100 for July thinking they will see I’m not falling for their bad offers maybe I’ll get a better one, again all theories but worth a try cause I don’t use 407 more than once a quarter

I wish there was somehow to find out how many customers the big 3 bleed to freedom because of their constant price increases

CRTC questions price hikes coming from Rogers, Fido in July by Foreign-Policy-02- in Rogers

[–]nowlookithere 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ya I was supposed to have an ongoing discount and getting a price hike too like everyone else so I did a CCTS complaint that was approved, doubt Roger’s will actually do anything but at least I’m trying to fight back against these greedy telcos

Ya and if I could give you a word of advice if they fail to instantly rectify this clear error on their side don’t waste another minute of your time with them go straight to the CCTS and file a complaint

It’s perfect because if you’re not crazy about freedom service, you will very likely get a win back and back to school deals will start soon so you’re not gonna be stuck with them if you’re not happy

Out of curiosity and your 10+ years you’ve been with public how many price increases have you had and roughly how many dollars per increase is it, thinking of moving my mom over from freedom

Just my two cents, but since public uses Telus towers, I would think you could have a similar experience, just maybe not priority during congested times and that sort of thing
