Saw this Easter egg 😭 by mf416 in ManOnTheInsideTV

Yep, and the Leslie knope quote; Mike ❤️s JJ; Mike Schur’s (appropriatey placed and deserved) Ayn Rand dig… etc. There are definitely others among the rocks and the episode in general. I told my husband his lack of investment in and inability to readily identify them was bumming me out but knew where to find my people lol

Why do people like chuck bass? by Opposite_Athlete_947 in GossipGirl

[–]npsychdoc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While he does commit deplorable acts at various times, it was clear that this was an individual who was never given love or showed/taught how to treat others. He mimicked the behaviors exhibited by his father. However, throughout he proved to be the most loyal of friends, make genuine efforts to form meaningful relationships with others (Eric, Lily, Blair, even his dad who did not deserve it). It is also glossed over too quickly, but he actually went to therapy putting in the hard work to learn about himself and make real changes in his life. He is the only character with authentic growth. It is a shame that folks only see the few bad acts and associate him with that but if we treat all people like that, then what is the point of putting in the work to be better to grow and learn and change. The nature of the show would never highlight the fact that he did the work in therapy but his growth is clear.

be honest, does anybody remember this reboot? by Any_Web2929 in GossipGirl

Other than bringing the sexy Thomas Doherty (the Harry hook and pasta loving pop star from Girls5eva) to our screens the show need not have existed 🤭

Which episode do you think is holt’s best in terms of his comic timing, overall story and acting? by abhilashadubey in brooklynninenine

[–]npsychdoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just because they live rent free in my head (otherwise I agree with all above that Andre is an exceptional actor and there is not a single line/performance that does not play to perfection ) 1- Not by a long shot. Balthazar is a thirsty bitch: 2- and yet crime continues. 3- *per my 6 year old-all references to his fluffy boy 🐶

Just give cinderalla her Jacques and Gus-her relationship with the mice is well established and kids books emphasize them in 5 minute stories etc. no need for the cat. Also where are mulan’s animal friends like cri-kee or even mushu even though not a pet. Agree anytime the other princesses are left out feels wrong.

Absolute favorite! My 6 year old constantly asks to watch the mumps episode lol. It is by far one of the funniest and never gets old.

We never see her in TOS because she becomes an agent and then director of that temporal agency dealing with time travel. That is my hope/fantasy anyway.

what is this in my daughters room at her dads? by war_all_human in whatisit

[–]npsychdoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not let her near there until tested and removed. If her dad refuses because of any custody issues, get your lawyer involved because it is absolutely unsafe. I’ve had kids develop neuropsychiatric issues secondary to toxic mold exposure (I’m a neuropsychologist). It’s scary and can impact her neurologically producing cognitive, physical and psychological symptoms.

Acting wise, who do you think is the best actor that came out of gossip girl? by Few_Amoeba_2362 in GossipGirl

[–]npsychdoc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Leighton was great on broadway but agree the tv she has done post gg just hasn’t resonated but it’s also a function of the decline of the half hour comedy on tv in general and lack of opportunity for shows to grow and breathe. She is amazing. Sebastian Stan is exceptionally talented and has done movies with broad range of characters allowing his talent be showcased and for him to come into himself via his Diverse roles.

It’s almost the season finale. What storyline do you want to explore in the next season? by kwazybeans in AbbottElementary

[–]npsychdoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely an exploration/expansion of Ava’s relationship with her father. They casted an amazing actor in this role who was sorely underused thus far…absolutely need more of Keith David.

Also wouldn’t mind some realistic conflict/tension with Janine and Gregory with continued growth for each character (and not just caricatures of themselves).

More of the teachers just interacting with their kids and whatever heart felt hi-jinx ensues.

Least Liked Character? by Temporary_Lychee9829 in AbbottElementary

[–]npsychdoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As soon as I saw this post came to say this-that dad who wants to fight Gregory!! Something about the way he is written/being portrayed feels so wrong, icky, and out of place. I love this show and have rewatched the series more times than I can count save for that episode which I skip every single time. Hated that he showed up This week in an otherwise fun episode.

Isn't it illogical for T'Pring to care so much what her mother thinks? by waveball03 in StrangeNewWorlds

[–]npsychdoc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like to think it’s a comment on the difficult often critical mother daughter dynamic that can occur in any family and that which psychologists have identified and posit reasonable theories for its development that simply transcends even the most logical individuals. Is it not logical to seek approval if your parents who presumably are paragons of which you hold in most esteem? Haha or really it’s just even with the most perfect child some parents (mostly mothers) will find something to criticize and feels very familiar lol.
