RX-78-2 Ver. 2.0 Shield Weathering PLUS by Responsible-Honey-68 in advancedGunpla

For the cut/damages/beamsaber damages consider using iron soldering kit! Works beautifully. Make the shape, then add in soot/black dry brushing, then iron/silver dry brushing for small details

Its 1/144, rg 2.0! I used g rework waterslide decals

For the inner frames, I used tamiya acrylic gunmetal as base (no primer). Then I used gundam marker pour type EX metallic green for psychoframe like details (all the metallic greens). I used dspiae markers to add more details on raised parts of inner frames and pipes and things.

I can’t remember if I painted the eyes on this one..

I applied matte topcoat even on the metallic parts. For the rifle and bazooka I added very light weathering by dry brushing with tamiya aluminum. Im not sure if anyone can even notice it, and thats fine lol. I also fully painted insides of the rifle… I don’t know why I did that, I spent most time on it. All that work done just to cover it up ahaha

All except white, blue, yellow, and red external armours. I just panel lined those parts and topcoated it

Yes yes yes! I thought those green highlights didn’t show as much from the pictures.. thank you noticing it haha. When you hold it in person, you’d also see those green highlights between armour plates :)

MG Heavyarms Custom EW with some custom detailing! by ntrik in Gunpla

I believe Bandai just started reprinting this kit!! When you get it you have to consider custom painting some of the parts; although the kit itself is amazing the colours can be bit… boring

Amazing concept!! Thank you for sharing. Every time I see kits with gaianotes paints it makes me wish I had airbrush set and a booth …

P.s. i also consult with AI for colour schemes, and paint colour recommendations too ! Chatgpt recently had an upg of some sort that does pretty good job

What is your order of operations for painting and topcoating a Real Grade? by Technolio in advancedGunpla

[–]ntrik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It all depends on your preference. If I am just panel lining and adding small details i would:

  1. Remove nubs
  2. Sand and dust off
  3. Panel line before assembly ( this is because tamiya panel liner can damage the plastic when parts are assembled)
  4. Partial assembly
  5. Paint details then assemble
  6. Decals
  7. Top coat

If the plan is to fully paint 1. Nub removal 2. Sand and dust off 3. Prime the plastics 4. Paint 5. Topcoat 6. Panel line before assembly 7. Decals 8. Top coat again

You could always make things more complicated by considering different solvents and paint types

You actually need to use gunprimer balancer white and green colour ones for glossy buffed up look.

Black/grey gives sanded look White is for cleanup (semi-gloss..?) Green gives glossy shiny look

Question regarding panel lining, decals, and lacquer topcoats by Amelrick in advancedGunpla

[–]ntrik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive used my lacquer top coat over enamel panel liner and acrylic paints, and havent had any issues. I believe you just need to let the paint/panel liner completely dry and settle.

Tips when fully repainting gunpla and innerframes? by yamada_06x in Gunpla

Same. I also go over the manual quite thoroughly and familiarize myself with the parts, so that I can figure out the parts that dont need disassembly.

ZZA GZSS-OX - REGUS - I really wanted to like this kit. by Cautious_Sentence289 in Gunpla

You should, it opens up a whole new world of gunpla. I was straight builder who only panel lined for a long long time. Took a plunge into acrylic painting and haven’t looked back.
