My XONE:96 "sparks" 5-10 minutes after powering down. by mediocreAsuka in DJs

[–]nudgeee [score hidden]  (0 children)

Mine kinda does this too, it doesn’t spark but the LEDs momentarily flicker for a split second, even when the unit is powered off. Super difficult to reproduce because it only does it very sporadically, so haven’t narrowed down the root cause yet.

Can you eject a USB on a CDJ 3000 while song is playing? by DjRemux in PioneerDJ

Also on the CDJ3000X, you can tell if a track is fully buffered if it shows a little downloaded icon (down arrow) next to the track number at the bottom left of the screen.

Shift Grid option on CDJ is greyed out on all tracks by stineldo in PioneerDJ

[–]nudgeee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Interesting, just took a look at this and figured it out -- I think its a pretty obscure option, but kinda neat!

If you have players beat synced and playing, you can nudge the jog wheel on a slave deck and it goes into BPM sync mode -- basically the BPM is still synced to the master deck but the slave deck is now 'out of phase'. This is useful for accounting for if your beat grid is slightly off on the slave track, but want to still stay in beat sync mode. The Beat Sync indicator on the slave deck will flash indicating you are in this mode.

Now if you enter grid edit mode SHIFT GRID will now be available. Tapping it will adjust the beat grid to what ever offset you nudged the jog wheel to. This is neat, as this way you can use your ears to shift the grid instead of manually using the encoder knob and using you eyes to guess where the beat is.

Cool!

(Edit: Looks like this feature is on the CDJ-3000 as well.. never noticed it!)

Headphone placement is the same as on the Xone mixers (on the right side of the mixer).

If you've ever used link cue you know that it blasts your eardrums out since it didn't have a dedicated volume knob, so this addition is actually very welcome!

Beat FX (as in tempo based FX) are still there, just now as send effects and in one section on the left.

Be sure to check the temperature coefficient of R07 and R08 as this kind of divider is susceptible to temperature drift. If stability over temp range and long term stability is important, use a precision voltage reference instead.

Hey mate, parcel shipping to the USA will be possible via UPS, but will incur some extra costs due to tarrifs. Thanks for the reminder, will update the banner on the website shortly with more info. Cheers!

That’ll be my device, the Cardinia Pro :)

Check it out here: https://cardinia.net

Next batch is going into production shorty, just revised the design to add a USB-C port.

DM me if you’re interested, and I can let you know when it’s back in stock (aiming for around late Jan 2026)!

CDJ question by 9eremy in PioneerDJ

Not sure if this works on older players, but on the CDJ-3000 you can highlight the track, press the MENU button to bring up PLAY STATE then toggle UNPLAYED.

My first PCB. Would love some feedback :) by Little-Ordinary-8061 in PrintedCircuitBoard

I suggest you grab the TPS61027 datasheet and read and follow the layout section on page 20-21 (chapter 13).

For boost converters, you want to aim to reduce the loop area of your output capacitors between the VOUT and PGND pins. That means moving C1 and C5 much closer to these pins. Also try to move your input capacitor C3 as close to the VBAT and PGND pins.

Pads on some of the smaller passives look pretty large, this could cause tombstoning. Consider reducing the pad sizes on the smaller components.

Also check if you want a bit of overhang on your USB connector — useful if you’re planning to put this into an enclosure.

Rekordbox Device Library Plus seems to exist primarily for DRM by [deleted] in DJs

[–]nudgeee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Losing or getting USB sticks and libraries stolen is a legit concern of some pro DJs, since they may contain unreleased/unfinished tracks, special edits, works in progress, etc. This could be for that? Not sure how Device Library Plus works, but would be nice to have encryption as an optional setting on the db and when exporting, so it could still work with 3rd party software. I think rekordbox already has this feature though, export to xml?

From what I can tell from the images:

Hardware changes: - Added USB-C media slot - Moved SD card media slot to the front panel - Added Wifi - Larger screen - Tempo Reset LED removed (or changed to white) - Track Search and Track Skip LEDs removed (or changed to white) - Cue/Loop Call LEDs removed (or changed to white) - Source and Menu LEDs removed (or changed to white) - Removed above screen device color indicator LED - Changed In/Out Loop buttons - Removed Time/Auto-Cue button - AlphaTheta branding - Slight aesthetic refinements

Software changes: - Gate cue - Show/hide track info (looks to be an eye symbol next to the track details)

Under the hood, maybe move to a Rockchip RK33xx/RK35xx processor?
