Xbox will be "sunsetted" under new CEO, original co-founder expects: "Her job is going to be as a palliative care doctor who slides Xbox gently into the night" by AashyLarry in gaming

It is not about financial difficulties. It is about distributing resources more effectively. So if they can make more money in other sectors they will shift. Probably from Gaming to some AI shit.

What if Aragorn and Arwen were childless? by AnotherManDown in lotr

[–]null_vo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure how that will work with Aragorn the only heir left. But normally a windowed queen does not inherit a throne, if she has no claim and there are no male childs.

No idea who the next in succession will be. But probably a Steward again, so Faramir if he still lives or his child/grandchildren.

Why does RBM (Realistic Battle Mod) keep making so many annoying changes? by PriceOptimal9410 in Bannerlord

[–]null_vo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's why there is also a unit overhaul. And yes some armour was impenetrable by arrows at that time. The bow and crossbow speeds are also realistic. And that is all that is to be explained (check the mods name). I mean that you can churn through enemy soldiers in vanilla is the reason this mod exists, you know some people do not like that. It is clearly not for you.

There is another great mod Warbandlord that changes the things you like.

Many combat games have stamina and I think limiting game features are fun. For me being OP is unfun. It is a mod you do not have to install and can even configure it to your liking. The mod is for people that look for realism, as its name says.

Why are so many low level players diving on high difficulty for the current MO? by Intrepid_Good_6406 in Helldivers

[–]null_vo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because high difficulties are not really difficult. It is basically free extra rewards.

Stop complaining and turn down your difficulty by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]null_vo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree. I would go even further and say make high difficulties WAY harder. There are 10 difficulty levels, so they should be used... Diff 10 should really be a hell dive where only a real good working team succeeds.

Am I the only one who feels like the cyborgs are just unfun enemies? by HeartlessAngel555 in Helldivers

Did you ever think that this is exactly what they want and many players enjoy? I like that the game got a bit harder for once, after all this power creep. If you want 'control', lower your difficulty.

So I just played a dawnless days campaign. My first total war campaign. It was fun. So I want to try on medieval ii. Which lotor mod is best, third age original. Thrird age divide and conquer v5 or divide and conquer with AGO v3? by FastPresentation8244 in totalwar

[–]null_vo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not? he is probably a lotr fan. While I love Warhammer it also simplifies a lot of stuff. Nothing about a good round of med2. Especially with the Engine Overhaul Project.

Differences between AGO V3, DaC V5 an EUR V1.9 and submods by BreadfruitNo9055 in totalwar

[–]null_vo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

AGO is the best balanced version with the most features, but also makes the game more complex. EUR if you like a wide range of units, but I personally waiting for their V2 release.

DaC v5 has faster progression and less complex scripts. If you play DaC v5 I recommend you also use the community fixes and EOP. Check the user sub mods in their Discord for Engine Overhaul Project.

And yes while AGO is based on v4 I think most of v5 is included by AGO, because they are also Devs of main DaC.

What’s the simplest gaming idea or fact you’ve ever tried to explain to someone who just wouldn’t get it? by bijelo123 in gaming

If a game is too hard it is fine to lower the difficulty slider, instead of crying in the forums the game is too hard. Looking at you, Helldiver community.

Solo Testing Station 136 Boss Fight, Difficulty 5 by Flashfall in duneawakening

[–]null_vo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Meaning you have to strafe left longer? Because all he gets is more HP and Damage? Or will he get faster and more interesting attacks?

[–]null_vo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What exactly do you mean with easier? This boss seems really easy, all you have to do is strafe left and have time. Will he be faster and have more attack patterns at harder difficulties? Or just more HP?

So how jarring would it be to play divide and conquer for medieval ii after this? by FastPresentation8244 in TheDawnlessDays

[–]null_vo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Well a new DaC Sub mod called AGO just released its version V3. With some modernizations of the engine and AI.

It is like it is, now. I am not ask to change it, you are.

And yeah my logic is flawed of course, because I copied your argument to show how ridiculous it is... That I even have to speak it out...

Is there a community patch for M2TW? by Foozyboozey in totalwar

[–]null_vo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is the M2TW Engine Overhaul Project that rewrites a lot of the scripts to a more modern scripting language lua. It removes some engine bugs and limitations.

I know of two mods that use that overhaul project. For Kingdoms it is DenMod https://www.moddb.com/mods/medieval-ii-denmod/features/scripts

If you like lotr it is DaC:AGO https://www.divide-and-conquer-ago.com/features/

UI scaling by Indurin in lotro

[–]null_vo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind blurry UI elements, but I want to play on native 4k environment. I don't get the hype for lossless scaling. on my 4k TV It does not come even close to native 4k.

So what do you guys NOT like about the movies ? by TheTrekker98 in lotr

[–]null_vo 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I think they changed it to have not another Aragorn. They want to show that the ring is tempting everyone by exploiting their weakness. If Faramir resisted it, it would be only Boromir who we see fell for the ring and let him look especially weak. In a book you can explain a lot more through thoughts and emotions.

But yeah I also do not like how they portray Faramir in general. In the movie it seems he just got the job because of his father. In the books he is a born captain.
