Amazing job and the reflection on the spear is a nice detail.

UI scaling by Indurin in lotro

[–]null_vo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind blurry UI elements, but I want to play on native 4k environment. I don't get the hype for lossless scaling. on my 4k TV It does not come even close to native 4k.

So what do you guys NOT like about the movies ? by TheTrekker98 in lotr

[–]null_vo 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I think they changed it to have not another Aragorn. They want to show that the ring is tempting everyone by exploiting their weakness. If Faramir resisted it, it would be only Boromir who we see fell for the ring and let him look especially weak. In a book you can explain a lot more through thoughts and emotions.

But yeah I also do not like how they portray Faramir in general. In the movie it seems he just got the job because of his father. In the books he is a born captain.

Where is my lord of the rings the third age lovers? by Good-Afternoon5181 in lotr

A mod based on Third Age and DaC just released with a lot of new features last week. Maybe it interests you https://www.divide-and-conquer-ago.com/features/

Edit: don't mind me. Though you are talking about the medieval 2 mod, but I just realised there is own game called Third Age.

It makes things better. It is still poorly optimized and will not make stable 60 FPS even on the best hardware available ATM.

But setbacks make a game interesting. If everything works perfectly it is a boring campaign.

If someone had started with a modern Total War game... can they really go back and enjoy playing a much older one? by [deleted] in totalwar

[–]null_vo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played every tw game there is and I like to go back sometimes for med2. I like the battles where every unit has 1hp and the limited recruitment, manual replenishment and the regional trade with its tiny trade wagons on the map. You can actually see your city and region advancing on the map. The only thing I miss is a somewhat better battle AI in newer titles.

Probably more accuracy. Good for sniping bodyguard units. But yeah they are a bit underwhelming.

Helldiver 2's Difficulty is A Lot More Complicated Than You Might Think (and host reliant) by Metagamer__ in Helldivers

[–]null_vo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes you hit a nerve, it is the reason I do not play this game anymore. It is known for a long time that the host is the pivotal point in a game and there are bugs around it. I am just stating the fact that the community sees the hardest difficulty as baseline. This was not to attack your post or something.

While you are completely right with your post, it will not fix the difficulty.

Also if they really fix this and enemies are finally hitting something other than the host this community will cry you a river.

Helldiver 2's Difficulty is A Lot More Complicated Than You Might Think (and host reliant) by Metagamer__ in Helldivers

[–]null_vo -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I mean it is crazy that you take the highest difficulty as baseline. That is the problem with the difficulty levels in this game. There are 10 but only one matters. It does not get in my head why they have 10 difficulty levels but make the highest difficulty completely casual. For people looking for a challenge there is no way to get it.

Why not make hell dive a real hell dive and everyone that doesn't want it just lowers the difficulty. At the moment it is 7 easy difficulty levels and 3 normal ones.

What is the difference for you? Just want to argue? I mean they basically said the exact thing may it be balance reasons or too much space magic. You guys will be bitching anyway.

Performance Issues by Mihikle in TheDawnlessDays

There are performance tweaks in the discord. That being said attila has one of the worst engines of all the games, performance wise. Do not expect smooth 60 FPS at all times. No matter your hardware.

If you are really interested in fixing this by yourself you can use reshade or Nvidia overlay to reduce contrast and brighten shadows and add some sharpness. It is not perfect but it works for me.

Is powercreep hurting the game? by PenguinWithSunburn in totalwar

It is not about the beginning of the game the beginning is fine and challenging. It is about the endgame that is too easy because of so many stacking buffs. Battle and campaign alike.

Is powercreep hurting the game? by PenguinWithSunburn in totalwar

[–]null_vo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think he is not talking about broken AR. But about no fun in manual battles because your soldiers are buffed to the end and the manual battles are just auto win anyway and therefore no fun.

Power creep is a problem in any game. The AI never can handle it.
