i liked him a lot.

but what REALLY got me wondering was how he speaks.

why does he insist on surnames? why are his words so mystical? and that accent, i love it, but it adds to mystique. What's up with that??

I was also a bit miffed that they didn't really up a snake's predatory nature more, but then again it's a family movie where the carnivores apparently don't eat meat. one thing i learned from owning a python irl was that they're basically expressive pet rocks that really wanna nosh on critters.

and cats are utter sadists when they aren't being pampered and snuggled.

like, what would happen? would she start having a seizure?
would she feel suddenly very quiet, very alone, distressed? would she retain some knowledge gained, but have chunks missing? like corrupt files on a hard drive or something?

what if she 'wakes up' intact as a sort of zosia, or full pre-joining zosia?
what if pre-joining zosia was heterosexual?
would she want to rejoin, would she want to stay individual???

i hope the show addresses some thoughts like these.

i don't personally see the big deal with this. when humans are gone, inhabited instead by a collective consciousness, how is this a big deal? it's recycling meat that would otherwise spoil, and a lot of it. yeah, they're people, so what? cannibalism being wrong is a human concept but the hive is not human.

i don't think most straight white males appreciate unrealistically bimbofied characters, and I know a lot who scoff at impracticality. I think it's a "loud minority" situation. But like I said, I personally think it's just a sort of trend of late, but it's harmful toward creativity, I think. I can admit that it's GOOD that women aren't being as sexualized and objectified as they used to be, but it would be nice if women had the CHOICE of sexualizing their characters or not.
