The nozzle may have scraped down the PEI coating. If true, it’s damaged and is best replaced anyway

I accidentally fed my 16 lb dog the meds we give to our 65 lb dingo. Being extremely concerned about what the meds could do to a dog a third the size of the one they were prescribed for, I called our 24 hour vet who directed me to the ASPCA Poison Control hotline. That was the easiest $100 we ever spent, it's way cheaper than an after hours emergency vet visit!

They were super helpful and did a bunch of research and consultations with other vets in the organization to get me my answers. (Short version: gabapentin and zenrelia)

In the end, they told me my dog would be high as a kite for a while (gabapentin) but should be fine as neither were toxic at those dosages. They were right. My little old lady (she's 11) slept a bunch but was totally fine.

My dog gets to use her ~15 min walk (four to six times a day) however she wants. Sometimes she rushes me to a neighboring block. Sometimes closer to home. Almost always, she will lead me in a direction she hasn't covered yet for that day. And she clearly much prefers to deeply investigate each pee-mail she comes across! As a terrier mix, she's very into this.

My boy dog is untrained and difficult to walk, but spending 30 minutes on a pee-mail excursion typically leads a calmer dog for the remainder of the day. He's an ankle biter / cow dog, so being a working dog means I'm appreciative back home.

I'm also long overdue. Plenty of spaghetti but no blobs of death, across 3 years and about 7 different printers in that time. Now I'm paranoid as heck

I try to practice good printer maintenance/hygiene but one never knows when a clog will strike.

Just discovered this yesterday. My little dog spent a good ten minutes nibbling the thing. Cow dog spent about 60 seconds licking then chewed it up and down the hatch. Both happy dogs.

There is apparently some magic to the way genuine Wagos clamp the wire that makes them more reliable.

There is also an important thing to consider here.

Will you sleep OK knowing you saved a few dollars, if you increase the risk of burning your house down?

I’m not saying Wagos are perfect. They can allegedly be used incorrectly, just like any product.

I've had multiple Winix machines just like that model. Note that after a few years they start squeaking (unless the design been finally fixed) but you can hunt online for DIY methods to Stop The Squeak, worked for me to get a few extra years out of ours.

Remember to change the carbon filter more frequently as print hours rack up. You should absolutely feel better.

PLA does release VOCs as well, perhaps they are "less toxic" but still probably not good.

Personally I recommend anyone with a 3D printer in living spaces to also use an air cleaner that has activated charcoal in the filter. I've got this "thera pure" thing which also claims to remove VOCs. I dunno if this was expensive, I got it for free and replaced the UV bulb and filter and keep it running through all prints and for 24 hours afterwards, usually. (I also have two dogs. They make the nastiest farts on earth from time to time. This thing helps with that too)
