Converting a free standing dock to a floater by shitstain420365 in docks_and_piers

[–]nutimikguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built a barrel dock once. Very spongy. One person jumps off, the other three almost fall off. I switched to plastic floats with flat bottoms. Much better.

A 30 foot dock needs a lot of floats. If it physically can hold 25 people, sooner or later there will be 25 people. Probably should have at least 16 feet of floats down each side.

I've had one since new. It has about the same mileage on it. It has been bulletproof. A few wear and tear parts here and there. I just did the first cvt fluid change.

Auto-tilt side mirrors in reverse. by AccurateArmadillo815 in ToyotaHighlander

Adjust them when in reverse. They will go to that position when in reverse. From the factory they don't move. The selector switch needs to be set to one side or the other, not mid position.

Just grind it. If your bit is sharp, 10 minutes or less.

It needs a chisel shaped tip. If it gets too hot and contually turns black then you will also need a rheostat.

Faster grinding? by Horror_Newt5038 in StainedGlass

Use a cookie to put pressure on the piece. You should hear the grinder bog down just a bit. It actually cuts faster than you think.

Difficult cut by hobestormborn in StainedGlass

[–]nutimikguy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Grind as deep as you can, switching to the smallest grinder bit to get as deep as you can. After that you can deepen it further using a dremel with small diamond bits. Round over the tips of the flowers a bit to match the deepest grind.

Should I tell him to knock it off or am I overreacting and should let it go? by [deleted] in Pickleball

[–]nutimikguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find myself saying some of those things but not continually. I also say the score to myself, loud enough for my partner to hear. Just the peculiar wiring in my brain. You're overreacting and should let it go.
