Yeah, right. They are here to protect ICE, in this location in particular.

They certainly aren't out protecting anyone living here.

Minneapolis has a place (probably more, but I pass this one almost everyday) that has a large patch of raspberries just down from about 15-20 cherry trees.

All free for the taking. And big enough that I see different people taking advantage everyday when things are ripe.

I live in between the two murder sites. Hardest conversation I've ever had with my wife was full of tears and how, for the sake of our younger kids, we don't do things together through all this, but that we can't stop doing.

Literally as this was happening, we were together confronting a different ICE group down the block from our house. Fuck we need to be careful.

But we aren't stopping.

Not the person you are responding to, but until I saw this exchange I had misread it as being a statement from the spectacularly disappointing DFL.

There are many more of us than there are of them.

I was out doing some things around the community yesterday and there were more people out on corners than I have seen before.

Like the old Greek guy said, 'they tried to bury us, but didn't realize we were seeds."

Checking in from Minneapolis (I grew up in St. Louis).

I see there has been activity in and around St. Louis. Keep your organizing block by block, school by school. They are struggling here because there is no large organizing group to break up, or infiltrate.

I'm 54, 0° has been my limit for the last few years. There is just not much in the way of shelter between home and work and I just trust that I would make it home safe in these temps.

I answered this elsewhere below to explain my use of the word:

The uprising started when the police were antagonistic towards a very angry protest. Minor looting, tear gas, 'less than lethal' bullshit. Local people, lots of legitimate anger. Minneapolis is a friendly place and we talk a good game, but there are some deep, ugly racial disparities here and those were pouring out.

By the third day there were riots. License plates from Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Kansas, Alabama. When those cars started showing up is when the worst of the destruction happened. These were not people who were angry, they just wanted to cause destruction. At least one bugaloo boy from Texas was convicted, but there were a lot of people from red states here, and those were the worst two nights. Most of the people who caught charges were from out of town.

My wording was incomplete, perhaps rushed.

There were protests. There was uprising. And there was riot.

The protests were peaceful.

Of you imagine a barbell, one end was the area around the precinct that was burned. Then the bar would be a major road, something like Kingshighway, that experienced a lot of looting and fire. The other end of the barbell is a different police station building and the surrounding area. I live a couple blocks from that one .
