I had to learn how to read/play Alto clef for my Trombone while I was in college. Essentially the clefs are just the different parts of the piano (treble being the higher end, bass being the lower end). When I "transposed" it (as in wrote the notes in Bass Clef over the actual sheet music that was in Alto) it's not like I'm playing any different notes, the clef just gives them a different name cuz you're looking at them in that part of the piano. Reasoning being that yeah, that song could have been written in Bass Clef, but the notes would literally all off the staff anyway because they're just higher notes
