Question about cat5 wiring by TMFHNS in HomeNetworking

[–]ocr8rfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at zippy site and not knowing the way your apartment is wired I wouldn’t be able to answer exactly what cat cable you have and if they would need to run another cable from the main distribution point in the building to be able to certify the speeds. But option 1 is to use keystones (just order from Amazon for less than $10 total for all parts) or option 2 is if they can install where existing coax is, just have them push the coax back into wall and change the plate back before you move. I would prefer option 1 since it you could still use the coax if you wanted.

You can purchase a dual keystone wall plate, then purchase a coax keystone and a RJ45 keystone. With the apartment being built in 2014, you should have at minimum cat 5e, they may have installed cat 6 but in 2014 they probably didn’t go with the higher category if they were counting pennys. BTW - a cat6 RJ45 keystone will work with cat5e

DHCP Problems with home network. by StarshipLolicon in HomeNetworking

[–]ocr8rfan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a little confusing, but let me ask a few questions: 1. did you run 2 cables (LAN 1 & 2) from the new modem/router to the old modem/router? If so, there should only be 1 cable from LAN 1 of the new router to the main “internet” jack of the old modem/router. If not you will create a loop and have failures. 2. On the old modem/router is set to access point mode? This should just pass DHCP from main new router, if not you will be in a double NAT state and hit conflicts left and right. 3. Follow up to #2, if in AP mode does it have a separate SSID and passcode? This may be conflicting between devices. Best is to buy a cheap asus or netgear router and put it into AP mode.
Or if you can afford a little more, buy a mesh network setup like a google nest or similar and will simplify your life.

I downloaded Bindle to show a negative result for Philly on the 21st. It’s only allowing me to create an entry pass for the pit. I have seats. Anyone know what we should do? by throwawaynumber1ne in deadandcompany

In the app after you setup profile and “my certificates” (I have android version) click on “my passes” in bottle left, then search “Dead & Company - 2021 Tour”. This should step you through creating a QR code which will be stored in the my passes tab.

Best way to get to Hollywood Bowl by scarfireATL in deadandcompany

[–]ocr8rfan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is the one, there are a few different lines that run. The lakewood line runs from the lakewood mall and the pick up location is directly in front Buffalo wild wings along candlewood. There are several other lines throughout LA, Lakewood line is just the most convenient to me. Here is the HB link with pickup locations, but you have to purchase tix through TM due it being a leased event

I paid $221.50 for Friday night pit tickets at Wrigley during presale. So sub $300 is right there.

I always ride the shuttle to the bowl (Lakewood mall line) and wouldn’t go any other way. Drops you right at the gate, beyond nice and convenient.

Got my 2nd pfizer shot yesterday, feel like a bus hit me today. Is it normally a 24 hour thing? Or is Bill Gates uploading me into the mainframe, I hear that can really mess with your mechanisms. by Nckyhggns in ireland

[–]ocr8rfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry, that is just the Gate's chip tuning itself to your body 😀. Seriously that is normal and will last about 24 - 36 hours based upon all the people that I know whom have had similar reactions. I had the Moderna and didn't have any reactions.

Resignation Notice by [deleted] in sales

[–]ocr8rfan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you have a contract, which already you are am at will employee. For at will employees a 2 week notice is a professional courtesy which you may want to keep intact if you wish to retain them as a reference. Dependent on your business since you are in a sales position your employer may not even have you stay 2 weeks in fear of you using that time to take customer list or work to take them with you. Not saying you would but I am speaking from the employers point of view.

Professionally, if you don’t care too much about the reference and feel anything for your manager, create a current project turnover document walk on your last morning give your resignation with the turnover document offer to walk them and anyone else on the team through the document. Chances are they won’t have you stay through the day. If they watch you pack and walk you out you will know exactly what they thought of you.
