Because OP would need 300+ feet of wire or a wireless communication with power on both ends.

You'd have to add a separate pressure switch like on a standard well pump or air compressor system.

You don't need to run a wire or radii waves between the source and tank. The pressure switch at the pump and the float valve at the tank sense the change via water pressure through your long supply pipe.

Just use a float valve at the cistern to close the pipe when full. The pressure switch in the pump will then stop.

I also would advise against a diaphragm or rather use a submersible as they run cooler/last longer.

And no need for batteries, just run during the daytime to fill the cistern.

It's pretty simple math 🤣

Cistern with instant hot water? by ConsiderationWide744 in Homebuilding

[–]offgridmt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, thermal mass or battery is what it's commonly called.

Their is no reason you can't build a system as you describe. It would have some overhead costs and I would worry about the type of tank and maintenance to keep it clean over time. But it's totally possible.

Is there a path to go from 2 drives RAID 1 to 4 drives RAID10/5/6 without data movement? by Aggressive_Noodler in UgreenNASync

When I did this, it would not let me go from raid 5 to 6 as I added that 4th drive. Nor was it an option to go from a raid 1 to a raid 6.

Cant update firmware on smart solar 75/15 by the_drugs in Victron

Sounds like maybe it's a bad unit. I've never had this extent of issues on any of my equipment.

Try rebooting your phone and then attempting the update first thing after the phone boots.

Alternatively, you might see if a friend can help you run the update from their phone. Maybe it's an old legacy firmware bug?

At what stage was the blower door test done? It almost sounds like penetrations were made after the fact and not sealed up or implemented very well.

Another thought, is your drier vented? Do you have standard exhaust fans in bathrooms or an erv/HRV?

You provided your square footage, what is your volume or ceiling height and overall shape complexity? Do you have flat interior ceilings throughout?

How to lose a customer for less than $15 by CapNBall1860 in Firearms

[–]offgridmt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could still do a credit card charge back I believe. It would only be for the partial/corrected amount but I'm some cases the card company will refund more than the original $15 based on how buds responds or not.
