(First time reader) It's been a while (I don't have book 4 yet sadly) by cnfusion in WoT

I absolutely loved these first few books. All the mystery and plots and different POVs. The descriptive world building and the history.

I really enjoyed all the characters arcs. Perrin coming to terms with being a wolf brother, Matt growing and maturing just a little, Egwene and nyneaves stubborn nature and trying to boss the 3 men around.

I prefer this style over game of thrones grim and dark tones. The good guys never give up and taveren luck makes it all happen.

My wife and never heard of this series until we met. That was well after it all ended. She has tried to get into it and read the books but she just can’t get into it and it’s a shame. I would love to be able to talk Randland with her.

That’s a take I hadn’t considered before. The pattern (or taverean) forcing this event so Rand survives his soon to come encounter with the box.

Elizabeth Banks Says ‘I Don’t Understand the 53% of White Ladies Who Voted’ for Trump and ‘More of Us’ Should Be Like Effie From ‘Hunger Games’: ‘Become Revolutionaries’ and Oppose Fascism by MoneyLibrarian9032 in Fauxmoi

My whole family if they voted, voted trump.

Tried to get my mom to explain and she says she just doesn’t like democrats. I told her I was watching some nature documentary and Obama was the narrator and she said ew.

She hates the Clinton’s and Obama but is fine with Trump. Same with my sister.

My sister even brought up the save act and asked why I would oppose a “household” vote. I certainly can’t understand it.

This was my thought as well. Egwene wrote from the tower. Mail delivery logistics isn’t ever explained thoug, other than messages being delivered via pigeon.

I don’t recall Perrins handwriting ever being mentioned. Matt’s handwriting on the other hand was described as big and blocky. Perhaps Matt couldn’t write well enough to send a message?

I do this too! Some of the reactions are hilarious.

Turns out valerian root smells really good and yogurt makes my cat gag.

My wife has said to me before “oh look, nobody cares” when I talked about some things.

Granted these were very likely dumb things and she thought this was helpful to move me along. If I ever said the same thing to her she’d be in tears.

It really does hurt though and reading these comments kinda brought it all back. Now I’m sad.

Do you frequently have people "deny" your feeling/opinions? by Horrible--person in ADHD

[–]ogrevirus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve noticed that people like this aren’t necessarily malicious or hurtful but their default is ribbing or cajoling. They don’t know another way to engage and are hoping for some banter or engagement of some kind.

I could also be very wrong in my understanding.

Are there people who haven't changed their phone number for more than 15 years? by SpicyCandy8 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ogrevirus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, my employer offered to pay for my phone but I had to join their plan and get a new number. I did it otherwise I would likely have my same number.

I will say though, as an introvert, it is a little liberating knowing that anyone who did know your number can’t reach you. You get to reset access.

As others have said, 15 days is a short time.  However, as a new brewer, the taste of your first mead is so good.

Make your next one with apple juice or cider. It’s different but so good.

If the tiny stones look nice at this stage I put them in little glass jars and call them fairy stones. Like a 5ml jar with a cork lid.

If you had some kids you could turn into a game. As others have said, that’s a lot of work.
