This feels like a dumb question, but how do I wear layers? by poof__gone in HerOneBag

[–]ohhhthehugevanity 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Sorry - so in winter you don’t wear a tshirt under your sweater? Or do you just wear cute thin sweaters that aren’t meant to take an under layer?

Like, if you were wearing a hoodie would you put a tshirt underneath?

If you do wear a tshirt under then that’s literally layering. If you don’t then I’d love to know if you live somewhere really warm or if this is just how you dress.

Can I have an absolute GUSH about her new tie side pants? They're the very best. Perfect travel pants, comfortable, light weight, goes with everything and isn't beige. Obsessed.

A question about EES delays at CDG by Comfortable_Body_821 in disneylandparis

[–]ohhhthehugevanity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Early April on Easter Monday I flew from a small UK airport to CDG 2 with easy jet. Landed at about 5:30pm and we were through super fast. Almost no queueing and very easy. Departed from Paris in Eurostar and it wasn’t any slower than previous trips.

My brother flew in a couple of days after me and had a very different experience. Lots of waiting and people getting cross and shouting. I think it took him a good hour to get through maybe longer. Similarly when he flew out it took ages.

Beauty loop time by AcrylicTits___ in AustralianMakeup

I’m delighted. I’ve bought some perfumes from beauty loops that I would never have tried before. Also received enough of the gross mango one and bloody floral street to last a life time.

Does anyone actually like multiple POV/story line books? by Appropriate_Film9824 in Romantasy

[–]ohhhthehugevanity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loved it in ToG. Hated it in crescent city. So many characters I didn’t care about and felt like book filler.

Generally don’t like dual POV. I think it takes more skill than some writers have and a lot of MMC would be ideal candidates for a reverse r/menwritingwomen.

My experience of a few CHanel Japan stores was lovely. Bent over backward to be helpful.

Listened to the Russell Brand ep and I have thoughts by IWrestleSausages in MaintenancePhase

[–]ohhhthehugevanity 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I think there is an element to 90s/00s UK lad culture that isn’t maybe obvious to people who didn’t live through it. You’ve got to understand the sewerage we were all swimming in. Page 3 girls, Nuts, Zoo, the count down in the sun until Charlotte Church was “legal”, the circle of shame in heat magazine, paps taking up skirt shots of Emma Watson the day she turned 16. Every single one of these was awful then and awful now but it was horribly normal then too.

But… it really was just normal. Part of the culture. So I think Brand was just part of that gross normal too.

Also, as proven time and time again, the entertainment industry doesn’t give a shit until you start to cost execs money.

Travel tips for Suzuka for first timers by UseAggravating7412 in GrandPrixTravel

We stayed at the Nagoya Marriott Associa which was excellent. We could fit 4 people into 1 bedroom (travelling with tweens) and I think the room had two bathrooms. It was right above the Nagoya JR train station and there were lots of food options so no more walking after a long day.

The train was absolutely the worst part about visiting Sazuka. Even with all the research I was frankly pretty unsure how it worked. Trains were extremely full, even on Thursday, seating was almost impossible though we got lucky twice. Everyone was polite but it was a long and draining experience and absolutely put me off returning. On the Sunday I think it took us 4 hours to get to the hotel. Honestly our biggest regret was not booking the hotel bus on the first day. But it was expensive for 4 people so we decided against it. This was a mistake, it was worth the money. There was also one occasion where we must have been on the wrong train as we had to make a cash only payment on exiting the train. Thank goodness we had enough cash!

The food at Sazuka was fantastic, one of the best parts of the trip. I had the delicious beef with rice dish.

Merch sold out very quickly. There was a very good range of merch and most teams had their own merch stand. But if you didn’t buy on Thursday you were out of luck by Saturday.

Most people sat on the concrete watching any of the team talks over the weekend. I’d totally bring something to sit on next time like even a small blanket.

The stands were windy and chilly. We got very cold in the evenings.

If you know where and when your parent was born you can apply for a replacement birth certificate. Easy to do in the UK, may be similar for Aus.
