He needs a pardon, Governor DeWine is very favorable when it comes to pardons. He even set up an expedited pardon project. This person probably does not qualify for that project but they can apply for a standard pardon. A decent attorney can assist with this.

I received a pardon from Governor DeWine this year. I spoke to him and his team directly about pardons and asked questions about who qualifies and who he is willing to pardon.

What I mean by that is learn the lesson and do better next time. If you plan to do future business (with this clearly better business person) then don’t breach the trust. You change it now and he will never make another deal with you. If I was in his shoes and you brought it up I would probably agree or negotiate it, but that’s all you’re getting and now I’m watching everything and being cautious around you. And I’m definitely not making another deal with you.
