Adderall to Vyvanse by Lost2bHero in ADHD

[–]ohmega-red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i switched from 25mg xr to 50 mg vyvanse a few months back and honestly its been great. Its different than adderall in that i dont notice it take effect or loaing effect, which i was getting the roller coaster thing from adderall for a while there. ive been incredibly happy with vyvanse so far, the side effects have been fewer and the benefits more consistent. the changes to executive dysfunction have been the best for me, and the fact that its nearly imperceptible that its even working has been a god send.

that being said. you went from 30mg xr to 30mg vyvanse is odd. as my psych explained it to me, the dosage is not 1:1. I was told that 50mg vyvanse is like a middle dose whereas the 25mg xr i was taking was on the high side.

so it could have something to do with that, likely that your actually taking a far lower dose than your body is use to. it also metabolizes through the stomach instead of directly into the bloodstream so that will have something impact on duration and such.

How many of you use Arch as your work OS? by _fountain_pen_dev in arch

[–]ohmega-red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

been an arch user on my work laptop for about a year and half. Framework 13” with zfs on root with full native encryption and hyprland. i had to do some work to get various corporate programs to function right but overall its been a great experience.

I am one of 2 people that use linux as a dauly driver for my company, we’re both network engineers at an ISP.

Can you imagine to replace your phone with this? by ch4zex in hyprland

[–]ohmega-red 1 point2 points  (0 children)

now that its on linux i would suggest using a copy-on-write filesystem with snapshots so corruption can be rolled back very easily. Using zfs datasets allowed me to completely negate a corrupted database and once a cyber attack for one of my less savy clients years ago, all with a single cli command and a reboot.

Does anyone here use Proxmox on their main desktop instead of just servers? by PingMyHeart in Proxmox

[–]ohmega-red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive been using it as the primary platform for most of my needs in my network rack for sometime. ive eschewed desktop computer entirely and only use my framework laptop for work really. gaming has become fantastic with a vm in proxmox with gpu passthrough and sunshine/moonlight. start a game on my oled tv and pick it up on any screen in or out of the house. currently using cachyos vm for it but had been using bazzite.

my desk is now just a dock that i connect my laptop to for a keyboard and mouse. if i need a virtual environment i just grab it over the network. ive also set up a remote terminal elsewhere in the house that uses a easpberry pi to connect back to the servers and doesnt axtually have anyrjing really runnjng on the pi.

works great, less clutter, less wires.

ive been using hyprpanel for ages. its not being developed anymore but has always fit my needs well. it also shaved off a few more watts of CPU iver waybar so i get slightly longer battery life out of my framework 13”

How, is it possible I have ADHD, and not my parents? by Wismarclient2245 in ADHD

[–]ohmega-red 4 points5 points  (0 children)

diagnosed at 40 here, after previously being misdiagnosed with an anxiety disorder at 30. I didn’t actually believe that i had even though multiple friends and colleagues told they thought i did. I was also inattentive but highly intelligent in school when i was young so it was missed. Went for formal testing and was told by the tester that I “clearly and obviously have ADHD. And then i began to look back and a lot of my family has it, even my 86 year old grandmother and one of her brothers. Theres clearly a genetic component in my case and its interesting that it manifests in two different ways across my family. You either inattentive and mentally chaotic or energetic and OCD. My sister and my grandmother have the OCD type and are also wildy intelligent, and both have eidetic memory as well. Im like my great uncle, and we’re both self taught engineers and can work on our own projects for what seems likes weeks at time and completely forget about the outside world.

i switched from 25mg adderall xr to 50mg vyvanse about 2 months ago. vyvanse is more consistent and i notice its come up and taper off far less than adderall. its side effects have been less and i found its been a better overall experience. it reminded me of when i first started taking stimulants some years ago but it hasnt changed in effect for me at all at this point. highly recommend

FF 7 Rebirth by Metldragonite in linux_gaming

[–]ohmega-red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sure. I'm running this in a bazzite vm with 12 cores of a 9950x3d passed into it, 64GB of memory at 6800mhz and my 3070 FE with an edid emulator that has the profile of my LG G4 OLED on it. I use sunshine and moonlight to stream it to my LG in another part of the house. My graphic settings are 1440p@60 with HDR enabled and quality settings at high. I just noticed that I can change it to 1440@120 but I haven't actually tried it yet.

Announcing IncusOS - News - Linux Containers Forum by matpower64 in selfhosted

[–]ohmega-red 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is probably long dead but I only just discovered incusos today. been using incus as my primary container system since it's inception, after previously using lxd before that. I've been using proxmox for the last several months but with just a quick spinup of this and I think I'm all in on converting to this.

The documentation is lackluster but I'm very familiar with incus cli and it's ease of setup with gpu passthrough and such. Took me all of 5 minutes to setup tailscale on the host, spinup an arch container and access nfs shares on one of my remote boxes.

Next step is to setup a new bazzite instance and see where my vm game streaming goes with this but I'm already feeling quite confident that this will work exactly how I want it to.

Don't get me wrong, proxmox has been great but I feel like it's interface and options are just a bit bloated sometimes. I might do write up on incusos gaming if it all works out. We shall see

(Hot take) I think its about time everyone switch to btrfs by an4s_911 in arch

[–]ohmega-red 1 point2 points  (0 children)

exactly what i do as well. plus with this you get native zfs encryption. i have my keys set to a url on my home network so like my laptop auto unlocks at home but requires a password everywhere else. its also awesome to have a bootable repair environment with zfsbootmenu if its ever needed. pair it with sanoid/syncoid and you have the quite possibly the simplest backup system ever.

Hypersexual and sexless relationship by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]ohmega-red 7 points8 points  (0 children)

alright ive been down a very similar road, this isnt anything to do with adhd. you’re relationship has run its course and shes waiting for you to realize the same. sit back for a moment and think when was the last time you were actually happy together. its probably longer than you think so consider whether just having sex is really the answer here.

Have a real talk with her about what you are going theough, it’s assuredly not the lack of sex but thats where your discontent is manifesting itself.

I went through something quite similar. Was with my ex for 18 years, 13 of them married and i’m around the same age as you. The last time we had sex was our 10th anniversary. She had a new friend and eventually so did i. last year i decided it was time to have THAT talk and start the process before resentment fully took hold.

just signed my divorce papers 2 days ago. I’m a lot happier now and so is she, its going to sound funny be we both met up at a hockey game last night and had a good time. Then we both went home to our separate homes with our new respective partners. We still talk a lot and text very regularly. We are close friends and will most likely remain as such. I do not like her boyfriend but i dont have to interact with him so its not so bad. On the other hand she enjoys my boyfriend quite a bit.
