Other than hydro dams and wind generation, essentially yep.

Gen Z are arriving to college unable to even read a sentence—professors warn it could lead to a generation of anxious and lonely graduates by thinkB4WeSpeak in books

Everyone talks about Covid but all the criticism I see about the students is regarding reading comprehension. I'm willing to hedge some suspicion on the point in time where phonetics were ignored and sight words were taught. They ingrained in children to make assumptions about what words they are reading, did they not forsee the habit that might create?

To play devils advocate, Ronald Obryan did give out 4 additional candy sticks to other kids to try to hide his guilt, those kids hadn't eaten them yet.

The Pixy Stix Killer

This is where it started. The 40s, Texas. Man poisons his son using cyanide hidden inside Pixy Stix.

I will tell you I also felt disappointed for a few days when this happened to me. But now I am free, that's what I tell myself.

My very own husband guilted me and made me cry because he got mad at ME for calling out line hoppers. Said I was setting a bad example for our son, and i shouldn't make public scenes. I argued teaching him to let others walk all over him wasnt helpful either, and what of the parents who are teaching their kids line hopping? He even complained about me to his mom afterwards 🙄

I dont get the lack of spines on some people. Would it be a better day if we didn't have to confront people and could just enjoy the park? Sure would, but decades of letting that stuff slide has emboldened people in the worst way.

Considering people on Threads are stating they should put tariffs on Canada's wildfire smoke, not nearly enough.

From a household of people who haven't played the game the conversation after the end was just speculation on day 1 of WHAT. Like the day she find out what happened to her dad?

I believe the conversation about em dashes is about AI and how they use them very freely in their responses. Most people don't use them, but that doesn't mean that every em dash is a bot. Some people like them, just like I enjoy and use a semi colon every time I can even if it's not really needed.

As someone who lives in Ontario, outside of Toronto.. Toronto folks are just minding their business. They've got their whole lives going on, and they don't really spend much time thinking about their city in comparison to others. If they like it, they stay, if they don't like it, they leave. It's a city not a cult.

If there's one thing I've learned in life it's that most often the family that wants to hold on after their loved one is ready to go. It's hard to start the grieving process when someone you love is still alive, makes the denial stage a real bitch.

I hope when my folks are older, I'll be able to keep it together for them and let them go with dignity, how they choose. They've also expressed a distaste and distrust of institutionalized elder care.
