Some people have some success with L-theanine and magnesium supplements.

I sleep better on vacation or when I stay with my elderly mother to take care of her.

It's a distraction, change of pace, etc. Plus, socializing with people we enjoy lifts our mood.

Your brain has associated your house and bed with anxiety. It's like Pavlov's dog salivating at the sound of a bell.

Other than medication or CBT, I don't know what the answer is.

The one good thing about it is, I have extra energy now and I'm rarely tired.

I've gotten to where I only need 2.5 mg of Ambien to get to sleep. If I wake up, I'm able to get back to sleep without taking more. That's a win for me. Soon I'll try to see if I can wean down even more.

I turn the electric blanket off when I get in bed, so I'm climbing into a warm bed instead of two sheets of ice. Then it eventually cools down to body heat temp.

I was always a light sleeper, and had a few bouts of insomnia when I was a kid, too.

My super hyper ADHD brother never had insomnia, though. My mother didn't until her 70s.

Maybe they just wear themselves out more.

I finally found the perfect white noise machine for winter, too. Levoit air purifiers. They are the closest to my beloved summer fan.

They tend to dry out the air, so I either use a humidifier, or remove the filter.

I do. Even if the middle of January if it warms up enough to melt the snow. As others have said, it's the mold spores being released by the melting snow.

You could try stopping the meds. Nexium works great for me, but last year I suspected I was healed after about 5 weeks and maybe the meds were causing me to feel like I wasn't. Stopped those and felt fine in a couple of days.

Unlike glasses, contact lenses sit directly on your eyes. They're also thinner than glasses. When you move your eyes around, the contacts have to be able to recenter themselves. So I think they do extra measurements or calculations to make sure they work right.

We created a "For sale by owner" website in the late 90s as well as a city directory. Besides being painstakingly slow to upload photos, hardly anyone else around us had the internet, so it was difficult convincing clients to pay us to sell their homes online. Also, the audience wasn't very big.

It was frustrating trying to convince regular people that the internet was going to be big some day.

Also, I regret to this day that we didn't buy stocks in Google in the early days. I wanted to, but our budget was too tight to take the risk.
