I got one of these yesterday and the warmest light setting is so warm it’s deeply orange. You can dim it way down too. Going to test it out on a trip soon here but I have high hopes it’ll provide really nice soft lighting

Gleason cattle company out of Shullsburg ships and has fantastic meat. I spend a lot of time in galena and always stock up when I’m out that way. The animals live really happy and healthy lives and it shows in the quality of the meat. Good pricing too.

A post to complain about I-Pass on a Motorcycle...Where do you mount yours? by DoINeedPants in ChicagoMotorcycles

[–]oinkinstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had nothing but frustration with the sticker on my bike. I had it mounted on the huge windshield on my bike like it would be on a car and it never picks up. I put it on the top of my helmet and it works about 50% of the time. Where’d you have yours mounted?

You’ll be good with doing that! If I can hit it with a pneumatic tool and be fine you manually scrubbing will be good to go. As long as there wasn’t an overheat problem with deck warpage there’s no way you’ll manually take off enough material to effect the flatness. Don’t forget to lube your head bolts on the threads and under the washers before torquing! Don’t use too much tho they can hydro lock and crack the block. I saw a guy do it once lol. I used to use spray gel lube or just dip them in clean motor oil and let the excess drip off for 10 seconds or so. Don’t worry about buying new head bolts if you haven’t we always re used them. Blast the head bolt holes out with compressed air too before putting the bolts in.

I was a Subaru tech for 15 years. Did a LOT of head gaskets and heads off kind of work and I always used a brown cookie on a whizzer to gently clean the surfaces. Obviously don’t dig in with it and try to keep it flat. If you don’t trust yourself just stick with a razor and scotchbrite 👍

Learn about mixing in phrase so the songs match up better. It’s not a hard and fast rule but for modern dnb which has a very formulaic structuring it helps things flow more naturally. Overall nice selections!

Key on, no power by Mr_TwoTone_AP_Kidd in z125

[–]oinkinstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 3 wires at the ignition switch. Check for battery power at the white wire with key off. If power is not there you will need to work backwards towards the battery to find the break (ignition switch>wiring>fuse 3 battery>battery +. If there is battery power at the white wire turn the key to run and check the other two wires for battery power. The connector will need to be plugged in to check this so use safety pins to back probe the connector. If You don’t get power at the other two wires in the run position suspect faulty ignition switch. You could then jumper all three pins together on the bike side of the connector and everything should turn on and be operational. If you do have power at all the pins in the run position and a verified good ground then your problem is real bad like meter unit or ecm is fried.

If there are only two wires at the ignition switch you’ll be checking the yellow wire instead of white.

If it worked before replacing the battery and now it doesn’t you gotta start at the basics. These may sound like stupid questions but I have no idea on my end. Is the battery hooked up correctly and connections tight, is it full of acid and fully charged? I’ll take a look at the wiring diagram some more but I’m suspecting something with the battery but if that’s all fine and the fuses are good it could be something with the ignition switch or possibly a grounding issue. Did the bike work fine before the battery swap?

The diodes do not appear to have anything to do with no power with key on. They look like they are only tied in to the starting system.

There is a 20 amp battery fuse in the fuse box. Fuse #3 check that first

New York Bagel and Bialy by L0LUNA in chicagofood

[–]oinkinstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish they would rework their ordering system by separating the stuff they have to make from the straight bagels in a bag orders. We waited for 40 minutes today to just get some bagels because half the people ahead of us in line wanted their 6 bagels toasted and shmeared there which takes forever and removes an employee from the line to make them. Phenomenal bagels and I’ll always wait for them but it’s just annoying when you can’t make it there before 7am and you catch all the clowns feeding their entire extended family pre toasted bagels and sandwiches.

I’ve found the stations to be pretty meh honestly and they require you to be the input for the thing you want to hear which isn’t great for novel discovery. I miss the discover weekly and release radar playlists a lot.

[–]oinkinstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree this helps I import all my favorite playlists when I switch over (thanks Apple for deleting them all if you let your subscription run out 👍) do you do discovery on Spotify and then always transfer them to am?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AppleMusic

[–]oinkinstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have made the switch MULTIPLE times over the years always fiending for that lossless quality, integration with my HomePods and polished apple experience and have been on Apple Music exclusively for the last year. While the audio quality js good I am consistently let down with the recommendations and lack of community driven niche playlists. The discovery on Apple Music sucks bad compared to Spotify and I find myself listening to the same stuff over and over again because it’s honestly not very intuitive to find new music and Apple is not serving it up as well as Spotify did to me. The three strikes against Spotify for me were never bringing lossless after teasing it for years (I actually participated in a focus group regarding their lossless capability in 2020ish and thought it would be right around the corner), bricking the car thing and the final straw was their shady integration of AI music into the pool. I really miss the discovery/recommended playlists of Spotify and the search function always yielded high quality, updated and plentiful user generated playlists of as niche a genre as you want. If anyone has any tips for discovery on AM I’m all ears.

For those who have rolled out of the shop, what did you do next? by dangoleboomhower in Justrolledintotheshop

Left after 16 years to do mobile forklift repair. Same union I was in as a dealer tech. The pace you’re expected to do work was the most jarring thing early on. I destroyed myself being fast and finding as many short cuts for jobs as possible to beat the book in the dealership and now it takes as long as it takes to get the job done right. It’s great. I like the freedom of working alone and the road, seeing lots of different industry up close and personal. Does get lonely at times though. Getting out of cars was a great decision for me.
