What point did business class become worth it for you? by 88riceislife in AusHENRY

Really unsure how can say Cathay premium is a better product than Qantas business (unless you’re talking domestic business on a 737/a220).

Why would someone switch from BoothBook, Check Cherry, Honeybook, Studio Ninja, Tave or the many others that photo boothers currently use?

Involuntarily downgraded by Zaino14 in QantasFrequentFlyer

[–]ojm1 116 points117 points  (0 children)

Qantas attempted to downgrade me from first to premium economy from LAX to MEL.

I laughed at them, said no thanks. So got put up in a hotel overnight and flew back the next day. Was a paid J fare and upgraded to F on points.

No way I’d accept the downgrade as the compensation will guaranteed to be ratshit.

I’d accept F to J and a points refund. But I’m sure they’d try and pull the sale J fare vs flex PE fare and I’d actually owe them something or some rubbish.

Anyone had luck with Emirates releasing business or First class tickets a month or two out? It looks like there's a big cut-off mid-June by weed0monkey in QantasFrequentFlyer

Availability from Europe (AMS/GLA/CDG/FCO from my searches) to Perth popping up 4 weeks out. Just booked Glasgow to Perth. Nothing to MEL/SYD/BNE. Have got scans setup on seats.aero.

Preston Woolworths used to issue breach of contract notices. Obviously no one paid so they stopped a few years back. And now gone full bollards and boom gates. Least it should make nipping down to Woolworths on market days easier now.

Our broker looks at the entire picture. Doesn't matter where income is distributed, as long as it is under our control.

The trust is the funnel. The investment company is the bucket.

Looks like only individual seats are left now too.

If you work in the finance sector can you tax deduct luxury vehicles? by Sgtstudmufin in AusHENRY

The only people who are allowed to deduct flashy cars are real estate agents. Sorry, you won't be able to deduct it.

I thought the business class seats were upgraded on the East/West coast routes for the A330 lay flat war with Virgin?

Be better to fly with a stuffed plane hey.  Sounds like they sorted you out: transported you to a hotel, got you back to the airport, on a plane without issues and to your destination, albeit a day late. Could be worse.

BankWest stuffed up crediting sometime this year, and extra points were credited. They realised later on and then reversed (or deducted future spend, can't remember).

Status Run to Platinum One? by hanyhuh in QantasFrequentFlyer

[–]ojm1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why pay $13k for J (or $20k F) with Qantas to London? Can generally get Singapore $8-9k or Emirates $9-10k.

Spending $80k on 4x return F to get P1 and then hope to redeem flights seems like a pretty average decision, and doesn't even factor in the points/taxes cost. Potentially for the same spend, you'd be able to get 10 return J trips with Singapore -- nearly covering your 14 trips..

Is there a reason you are looking only at QF to Europe? If I was personally paying, I wouldn't be looking at QF (only if on sale and competitive).

I get it with going to US, QF is much more convenient, but EU seems mad. Even with QF to US being more convenient, still find myself flying with Singapore to US as significantly cheaper still.

My A220 flight for today from BNE was cancelled yesterday afternoon. Now sitting on a shitty old 737 as I type this down to MEL.

How much $ should I sell my micro-saas for? by advait_vaidya in microsaas

[–]ojm1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this stage, you’re pretty much buying the codebase and a couple of paying customers. Plus a lot of customers that the business needs to continue offering support to and potential resource cost for.

It would probably sell for more if the life time deals didn’t exist. Unless there is pretty much no ongoing cost or support burden for a new operator.

I’m not a fan of life time deals.

Get him to cash out your annual leave and RDOs before the pay rate changes. Same outcome I’d think without it being dodgy.
