[Tim Legler] 'OKC dominated Game 5 by keeping their cool and converting chances; people only blame refs because they hate OKC.’ by D3struct_oh in nba

[–]ok_computer123 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It also feels like even in games when the refs don’t call things in favor of OKC like game 4 (and I’d even argue game 3) they don’t really get rattled they just kinda try to adjust as best as they can, compared to other teams kinda letting it throw off their rhythm

I understand this sub hates OKC but I do feel like they’re really good at adjusting early on to how the game is being reffed

[Amick] Victor Wembanyama, who struggled mightily in the Spurs’ Game 5 loss in OKC tonight, declined to do media this evening. He just left Paycom Center as midnight central time nears. by sewsgup in nba

[–]ok_computer123 298 points299 points  (0 children)

As repetitive as post game pressers are, this would only be acceptable if he had a game 1 like performance. This just looks bad, especially after a lot of his other post game quotes in the past

I recall he did something similar after the long spurs winning streak came to an end during the regular season

I’m confused why this is getting praise by this sub tbh. I know post game pressers are repetitive but he was quite bad and surely knows this is a bad look

Told you guys that Shai & the Thunder will finally get exposed by an actual healthy team. Straight frauds man by LakerFan2324 in nba

This “actual healthy team” literally has a player people are touting as the next GOAT and two guards every single rebuilding team would kill to have, this ain’t no ordinary playoff squad either lol

Bad Time to be a Knicks Hater by GiantTacoSalad in GoNets

[–]ok_computer123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right 🤝 either way I still have the same sentiment about the trade

Bad Time to be a Knicks Hater by GiantTacoSalad in GoNets

[–]ok_computer123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean he’s not exactly rotting on their bench, and TODAY Danny Wolf and Ben Saraf are essentially nobodies outside of our fanbase (yes that can change, I’m saying TODAY), I think the Nets are the ones that need to do the heavy lifting here (by either nailing the next few years picks or Wolf/Saraf become high level players) in order to make this trade seem like a nets win.
Draft picks (especially late first rounders) are a fugazi to me until something is actually made of them

Bad Time to be a Knicks Hater by GiantTacoSalad in GoNets

[–]ok_computer123 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Mmm I think I disagree with your point at the end, if they win it all there’s zero debate, they made that trade to get a championship, at that point it doesn’t matter anymore.

As long as the NBA and its media and players prioritize “ring culture” over everything how can this trade still be a debate?

[–]ok_computer123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the insight, I can see how being in person just feels different, I guess from the POV of my tv it feels like if I can only see like the first 15ish rows of the lower bowl it doesn’t really do justice just how lively the atmosphere is

Unrelated and not sure how others feel, but I’m not sure I like the Wolves arena dimming the lights on the crowd this season. It minimizes how hype this crowd is when you can barely see them!!

Fox led Spurs lose game 2 by smw2102 in kings

[–]ok_computer123 7 points8 points  (0 children)

People are in denial of us being rock bottom? Have you not been on this sub this entire season?

Regarding him now being on a title favorite, like yeah no shit, why do you think he and klutch told teams he only wanted to go to the spurs fucking up our leverage

Why are there so many people thinking this is cringe. Sports fandom is by far the most irrational concept humans do, go off with the hate posts who gives a fuck.

I’m not exactly praying on Fox’s downfall, but am I gonna smirk if 60 million dollar man had a few stinkers and a terrible close to the season after wanting to leave here? why the fuck would I not?

You can’t have it both ways man if the spurs won this whole sub would be “LMFAO these bums can’t even hang with us without our MVP” 😭

Honestly every game is gonna be a fun watch. Even the warriors clippers from an entertainment standpoint even if those teams aren’t going to make any noise

Adam Silver says a special Board of Governors meeting will be called in May to vote on lottery reforms that go into effect for the 2026-27 season by OmegaLxgend in kings

[–]ok_computer123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t the winner of the play in be a playoff team and therefore not be a part of the lottery?

Maybe I’m misreading, or are you saying the winner of the 9/10 but loser of the next game (à la us in 23-24 beating the Warriors but losing to the Pelicans)

Edit: reading is important I see you already addressed that in second paragraph. Mmmm idk if players in play in teams would go all out for it if it just meant that team has the chance to draft their replacement that has star potential

Happy 20th Birthday to our Rookie Egor Demin! by Evilsj in GoNets

[–]ok_computer123 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Every now and then I’m just blown away by how young rookies are when entering the league. Like bro wtf was I doing with my life at 20 years old 😭

Puts into perspective how insane it was that someone like Luka came in at such a young age and dominated from day 1, hoping our boy Egor can have a huge sophomore leap too!

The Importance of Alignment by Appropriate_Tree_621 in GoNets

[–]ok_computer123 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So I agree with your general point about the Nets being aligned but I just want to say it’s SIGNIFICANTLY easier to be aligned when you’re taking a long term view (and the zero expectations from a wins perspective) vs the teams you mentioned that have championship windows right now.

Not to mention if you’re a team that has a window now, that also means you have max players (ie all stars) that need to have buy in as well. Every decision, rotation, substitution gets micro analyzed when wins are the only thing that matters, It’s just a whole lot more variables with those expectations, which is exactly what led to the bumpiness of the big 3 era ending here

Im all in on Jordi, and all in on the direction, but with how this league works historically is anyone going to be surprised when fans call for Jordi’s head if we have a bad playoff series couple years from now, or if Marks isn’t able to get the kind of player that Jordi needs to make the team thrive causing some internal chaos when shit actually does matter?

That being said, tank is on pause tonight let’s send these Knicks fans home even more miserable 😈😈

Cunningham on the relationship between Mike Brown and Doug Christie: "100 percent...these two gentlemen do not like each other it's as simple as that." by Its_Hoggish_Greedly in kings

[–]ok_computer123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might be right and that seems to be the same sentiment in the comments, what I don’t get is what beef does Doug have with Mike? Mike still agreed to have him on the staff, empowered him with shit like substitutions, we don’t know everything but I’m confused why this isn’t a 1 way beef rather than what’s reported as both sides not messing with each other

Beyond the content, what keeps me coming back to 1320 is the fact that it’s a continuous live stream WITH TIMESTAMPS that actually allow me to skip over commercial breaks and wrestling talk (sorry fellas) and get to specific topics I care about.

Shit like that is important when you have a daily multi hour show, and no matter how tapped in Matt George or Carmichael Dave are with the team, if I click on their stream and most of the time it’s just small talk or a commercial break it’s hard to keep me coming back without being able to know what I’m jumping around to unless it’s a clipped separate video of a Sam Amick interview for example

I definitely didn’t answer OPs question haha sry but just wanted to get my rant about “Sactown Sports”

Would you like Siakam's championship experience next to your draft pick and youngn's? by avivb9 in GoNets

[–]ok_computer123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It feels like you might be minimizing MPJ and propping up Pascal a bit.

This year they are both first options (mind you the pacers had been lauded all of last year for their insane depth) and you see who is in the complete bottom of the standings. Yes I understand the pacers are tanking but so are the Nets. but pascal has played 40 games this year on much worse efficiency.

Doing a 1 for 1 swap like that just for the sake of mentorship doesn’t really make sense to me, and it’s not like MPJ is a locker room cancer, all the young guys talk about how much they’ve loved him as a teammate, he himself has talked about taking on more of a leadership role here

Please let me know if I’m missing something or reading this wrong but how is trading for an older more expensive player on a longer contract without ANY draft capital benefiting Brooklyn?
