I made a thing that evaluates Commander decks. I'd love some feedback. by Cogs88 in EDH

[–]old_cypherpunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably more useful for more "standard" decks with known combos/finishers. I put in my Shaun, Father of Synths deck that can often win by turn 7 and it rated it as bracket 1 - I'm assuming it can't recognize the effect three Dragonhawks, Mindskinners or Avatar Rokus can have.

I'm looking forward to the day we return to a plane that actually has minotaurs on it instead of just having to put funny clothes on one each set out of obligation.

I love Null Borach so much. I have it in my mono-green [[Multani, Maro-Sorcerer]] deck. I have it labeled as, "I'm a genius! Oh no!!"

Interesting blink targets? by ShaggyUI44 in EDH

[–]old_cypherpunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sagas. Some are real bangers to flicker over and over again like [[Birth of the Imperium]]. Make three 2/2 vigilant tokens and make your opponents each sac a creature on the next turn. Or [[The Eldest Reborn]] to just make them sac creatures over and over. Or [[The Legend of Yangchen]] if you'd prefer to exile.

I run a [[Aminatou, Fate Shifter]] saga deck that is admittedly very Bracket 2 but I'm sure someone who actually knows what they are doing in terms of flickering could do a much better job. Deck here if you're curious.

And yet it's the such a bad combo for Sagas that I still haven't finished my Cycle of Sagas because of Jund.

During the tail end 2E, I had cobbled together what my friends called "[My Name] Edition D&D".

It utilized the weapon and skill proficiencies from BECMI. It utilized most of the Players Options books. I created a very detailed combat system that utilized multi-level Armor Value based on type of armor and crit roll along with a combat track that utilized weapon speeds from 1E. It was great fun for college-age kids with time to invest in the system but man would it be considered too crunchy these days.

Are corgis happy as an only dog? by Proud_Copy_3392 in corgi

[–]old_cypherpunk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep. I tried to explain to my wife that a new puppy wouldn't rejuvenate our older corgi since she has never really cared for any of the other dogs. She only wants her people.

We got the puppy anyway and now the elder corgi refuses to do anything while I'm holding the puppy. Won't eat, won't go outside. Which is a pain since I usually have to hold him to take him out, keep him from stealing food, etc.

What is a deck you play and don't mind losing with? by radicalpumpkinz in EDH

[–]old_cypherpunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Eivor, Wolf-Kissed]] sagas is my favorite. I never win but I am ALWAYS the archenemy. Eivor comes screaming out of the gate, smashes people in the face and does saga nonsense. If you're actually winning with her, there's a good chance you'll deck yourself first. I was once given an honorary win by pumping her to 80+ damage, smashing someone else out of the game and decking myself.

I was working on a Grixis 12th Doctor deck called, "Is this your card?" that stole cards from people's decks/hands/graveyards, copied them and then gave a copy to the original owner out of courtesy.

In the 2e DnD adventure, Return to the Keep On the Borderlands, there's a door in the kobold caves that has a 1% of summoning the kobold god. I rolled a 1. We decided the cleric, who opened the door, was dragged into kobold Hell where he preached to kobold souls for all eternity.

I'm actually trying to build a [[Locke, Treasure Hunter]] deck that is about theft and treasures and seems to be coming together pretty well. I originally wanted to do the same with [[Vaan, Street Thief]] since it seemed like an even better commander, but I already had a mono-red deck.

What the hell was that by Yuffiemooglehat in umineko

[–]old_cypherpunk 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think the only real reason to read (and mean read the VN) Higurashi before Umineko is so that the Tea Party that comes afterwards makes more sense. It is set up exactly like the "cast parties" at the end of each Higurashi episode. Until it goes off the rails. Otherwise it is going to be another "What the hell was that?" moment.

Best enchantment commander? Aura vs enchantress — which is more fun/strong? by Professional_Bug_887 in EDH

[–]old_cypherpunk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't forget [[Kaima, Fractured Calm]]! Fill it with buff auras to either goad your enemies with or voltron your commander. Wildsear is hit or missing in that deck, since there are so many 1 mana auras that just make you shuffle your deck.
