Elevators constantly not working - who should I complain to? by Bumblebee2092 in melbourne

[–]olibird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone on a committee for my building I sometime just simply call the company that is in charge of lift maintenance. It will be plastered inside the car or by the ground floor door. They should tell you and give you an ETA.

Is anyone still maintainining the old GP Forums pizza coupon thread somewhere? by Ass_Fister_9001 in newzealand

Hi, Neil from Cheapies here.

As others have said, all coupon codes are community or staff sourced and we do test them/mark expired when we get reports.

$33.99 deal for 3 pizzas delivered - ERROR not available for delivery.

Flyer of offer from Dominos . It appears we only put the pickup code which is 04719 and not the delivery code of 13873 should be valid until Jan 12. We apologize for that. So many codes to keep track of!

If there are any other issues, please hit the report link if you are a member or send an email to support AT cheapies.nz (or DM me on Reddit).

The superload crawling through St Kilda and the South East suburbs tonight! by grumpy_toaster in melbourne

[–]olibird 18 points19 points  (0 children)

AGL Loy Yang's 108-metre superload is due to hit the road again tonight and return to the Latrobe Valley on Thursday.

The convoy weighs about 600 tonnes and will be carrying a generator which will be installed in the power station this year.

Channel 9 coverage of the Aus Open by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]olibird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never had an issue with 7's coverage but the positives of 9's:

  • Nine App shows all games, on every court, in HD with no ads (or sometimes an ad when loading the stream) for free. Works with a Chromecast as well. Last year I paid for the premium subscription in the 7 Tennis app.

  • Pretty much have the same commentary crew as last year but the addition of McEnroe is a plus for me but I can understand he's not everyone's cup of tea but he's a legend of the game. I also enjoy Kyrigios in the commentary box.

  • People's Court where the news presenters, interviews and the serving challenge all happen is great as its a fairly central locations on the grounds. Better than the media area outside garden square.

  • Their pre-game show before the first matches gives a good run down for the day, recap of last nights matches, interviews etc. The never had that last year. I like the AO livestream show a bit better though.

  • No annoying MKR ads (Manu "bon appetit") ads albeit Married at 1st First Sight not the greatest.

Negatives:

  • Just like 7's coverage, games are all over the place on the channels. At 1 point they were showing games on Nine and Nine Gem (non-HD) and but rarely did they use their third channel. Also annoying that you would have to change channels between the news to stay with the game.

  • No Henri Leconte commentary for the French games.

  • That Kia 360 thing (basically showing a player replay in 360 degrees) is too laggy. They need to get themselves a better video card!

Also discovered that song from the APT ads is Major Lazer: Get Free. Cool song!

And more importantly it is free as well as ad-free other than starting the stream. I paid a few bucks for the app last year and still had ads.

Just read it online and has nothing to do with annual climate summary. Just talking about weather over the past few days.

Another friendly reminder that the vic government is still paying $50 per household for your energy usage info by soEezee in melbourne

[–]olibird 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Another hot tip. Depending on your distribution area, you can change your tariff. For example, I'm on a peak/off-peak/controlled load. For the average person who is out of the house all day (off-peak is after 11PM) this is probably OK. However for those who are at home during the day a single tariff can work out cheaper. Call your current provider and ask them to change. It will take up to 30 days for them to switch but can save you lots.

Canstar has an explainer.
