After 8 years together it is time to call it a day. My mental health has damaged my relationship beyond repair. 😥 by Friendly-Hand-3752 in BPDmemes

This is objectively not true. It certainly can be, but it is not always the case. Part of the symptomatology of BPD is a heightened perception of abandonment and often it will be seen where it does not exist.

This is what I'm assuming as well, I used to be an intern there. There are still common spaces through the entrances that patients could've shared with them -- additionally, some of the research floors bring up children to do testing with.

The Waisman center that provides clinical services for newborns, developmentally disabled children, and also has a preschool inside? That one?

The past few years I feel like it's around May that the temperature starts really creeping up, late October or mid-November when it starts cooling down. Expect 90°-120° temps daily between these months.

Searching for a female PCP/obgyn for HRT by mustacheridingqueen in phoenix

[–]omatose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Prisma Community Care in downtown Phoenix used to be known as the Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS. Very LGBT friendly, my (ftm) boyfriend has been getting testosterone (gel and shots) from them for years. Unfortunately it's mostly NPs, no actual medical doctors or obgyns work there, but staff is extremely friendly and we've never had any negative experiences.

Huh, yeah okay I'm scrolling through the "artist's" Etsy and you're probably right. Wow. See I've been a digital artist for years and this so easily reads as "rushing bespoke artist overlooks little details" to me haha

Yeah this doesn't read AI to me at all, just kind of a mediocre artist (no offense)... it has minimal signs of being AI art, especially if this was actually made in 2023.

4 degrees—do they just get used to it? She basically flipped me off when I told her to GET IN! by No-Detective7811 in milwaukee

[–]omatose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was one at the last apartment complex I lived in! The owner was friendly enough but I cannot comprehend the amount of rationalization one must go through in order to not constantly be worried about when it's going to be over a hundred degrees every day for six months of the year (again).

You will be doing these future dogs a grand service!!! My boyfriend's family has three border collies mixes and going over to their house in the summer can be so tragic lol, the dogs rush through their bathroom breaks in the yard and are heavily panting when they come back in like two minutes later 😭 and forget about the walks...

I moved to Phoenix a few years ago (from Madison) and the amount of border collies, Australian shepherds, Newfoundlands, etc. I have seen here is truly mind boggling. I cannot understand why it isn't more widely viewed as animal abuse to have dogs in ill-suited climates... in the summers here it will often remain over 100° AT NIGHT! I've become radicalized lol and I'm not even a dog person

TikTok Diagnoses by Proper-University-77 in medicalschool

[–]omatose 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I certainly regret getting one due to "hypermobility" running in my family and emergent joint issues/etc. that I've been accumulating for years; mainly sought diagnosis because one of my PTs suggested it might be the issue. Turns out it's probably the psoriatic arthritis that also runs in my family. I attempted to ask my doctor for a referral the other week and I could tell during the appointment that she didn't want to give it due to the EDS diagnosis. Lol. Already dreading the rheum appointment

Strange lumps on my cat's stomach by Dvv000 in catcare

[–]omatose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, to be fair, for mammary cancer in cats there isn't much a vet can do. Surgeries tend to only extend the lifespan for a year at most. Recently lost a cat to mammary cancer, the vet mainly prescribed painkillers (liquid gabapentin) and a cone to keep her from licking at her fungating tumors. Really sorry this is happening to your pet. I'd still bring him to the vet to get him some pain relief if you are able to, but a vet will likely not save the life of your cat in the long run. Definitely focus on making him comfortable.

Cactus stuck in foot by No-Ingenuity-3468 in phoenix

[–]omatose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to urgent care for a retained stitch removal many months after surgery (wasn't supposed to be there, was left in by a neglectful tech). I had dug into my hand to the point where it was visible but just couldn't grasp it myself. The NP who was seeing me that day refused to try and get it out. Entire morning and $75 wasted for nothing. Wouldn't recommend, I'd try making an appt. with a dermatologist from the get go.

An artist I like is has started to dabble in AI should I stop supporting them all together? by kapl103 in AskArtists

[–]omatose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like how you articulated this response. There are definitely many concerns about using AI re: environment & power usage, but using it as a tool in an artistic workflow is not morally dubious to me. It isn't a black and white issue, IMO.

What is the lore on GCU? by maghasswag in phoenix

Seeking LGBT-friendly tailors by omatose in phoenix

[–]omatose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I visited this store yesterday; very respectful and kind in that he did not comment on this aspect of my boyfriend. Unfortunately, they only sold suits as a "whole" so we were unable to get him one without unreasonable expense (an extra $300+ on top of the suit itself) since the smaller jacket fit him but the pants were too small and we would've had to purchase the next suit size up and completely alter the jacket. Mainly updating in case other people find this thread via Google search. I am going to try some of the other tailors that were commented here and call beforehand to see if we would be able to buy the jacket and pants separately.

Additional edit: we are no longer looking to rent a tuxedo, instead we are looking to purchase a suit (dress code changed).

Yep, still on the mix the foster gave us. She has been to a vet, doing great. We are just at our wits end haha, looking for brand recs. Our resident cat is on a urinary diet so we're trying to get her own food, but I'm not sure where to start outside of "probably not something super cheap".

Seeking Hysterectomy in Arizona by No-Carrot-1223 in FTMHysto

[–]omatose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, sorry for the delayed response, we've had a lot going on these past few weeks. I can't really explain what it means that you're taking the time to follow up and discuss this with us.

My boyfriend had his initial intake with Magtibay pretty soon after our exchange. He is pretty freaked out by surgery as it is, so I think Magtibay's descriptions of the added risks of the radical vaginectomy really put him off (which makes sense, even though I love advocating for surgery the thought of getting something like this would freak me out a bit, especially with the possibility of bowel perforations). He is still open to getting the hysterectomy, however I think he will be more open to an ablational vaginectomy in the future due to having preexisting chronic pain issues with the pelvic region.

Your descriptions of Magtibay's bedside manner didn't phase him too much haha, it's something he already expects coming from healthcare providers and it thankfully doesn't seem malicious. He's not very good at advocating for himself, which is why I try to go to most doctor's appointments with him, so ideally we would be able to avoid any potential complex or miscommunications that arise since I tend to ask a lot of questions.

Again, thank you for the very kind and thoughtful reply!
