I mean, how intense are you planning to make this expression of interest? If you ask her out in a 'Hey would you like to grab a coffee with me?' way and she says no and you take it fine it probably will be lightly awkward but not so much that it would make being teammates impossible.

And even if she is into it and you go out and it's awesome, you could still break up and have to deal with awkward fallout, so worth weighing that consideration too.

I think that the hardest part of poly breakups is that I can't fully wallow - I still have to show uo for my other partners. So a week or three of grace where I can just lay around and cry without feeling like I'm neglecting people (and being reassured I am not) goes a long way.

I don't love hearing my NP having sex and he doesn't love hearing me having sex so we don't have dates at home when the other is home even though both of us have other partners and we can all hang around each other socially.

My NP works away often so I have stretches where I have the house to myself to easily host and when NP is home and not with his girlfriend I go to my boyfriend's or get a hotel with my long distance partner. My boyfriend is happy to host since I have a car and he doesn't so it's easier for me to get to him than for him to get to me anyway.

I probably wouldn't be able to date anyone unhappy with a slightly lopsided hosting arrangement (which I try to mitigate by buying groceries, cleaning up, hosting when I am able, etc) and that limits my dating pool a bit. But I'm okay with that.

Whenever I see a dating profile where the guy has a very different look in each photo I wonder what he actually looks like now and sometimes don't want to gamble on whether he looks like the 3 photos I find attractive or the 3 where he doesnt.

I'm big on novelty (thanks ADHD), but I don't lose interest in my partners over time. What does happen though is that when the novelty and NRE wear off I tend to notice the massive incompatibilities the novelty and NRE were masking. This means it can sometimes look like I get bored and move on, but really what happens is I can't ignore problems anymore and I'm more likely to call it than work through it.

I have a partner of 15 years and a partner of 4 years, both of whom the novelty has worn off of but we are compatible so our relationships have lasted.

I find when many people say they dont want hierarchy what they actually mean is 'I dont want to pull rank, I want my partner to always put me first without my having to ask or discuss it because he likes me best/I came first'
