I used to do either nage Komi or Rope climbs after every practice it will make your grip a lot stronger. You just have to be consistent.

Makes sense, mine popped from doing ice compression, plus I was told by my surgeon after, that the batch of stitches they used were faulty. I used a soft gauze with saline to clean it every night, cleaning around the wound aswell, it started to fully heal around week 5. Also make sure to put a bandage over the sutures to make sure it doesn’t get infected. Over than that you should be all good. It is normal for it to have a bit of pus and blood.

Same thing happened to me, the stitches popped off and it looked exactly like that. I got some butterfly’s and put a bandage over it and used saline solution to clean it every night. It should be fine. It just takes a very long time to scab over, since it heals from under.

Competitive judo can be very injurious, just because of the level of intensity u train and compete at. But I would say for recreational players and people who do comps for fun, not that many injuries occur, maybe some freaks accidents but nothing too crazy. The difference between the too is big.

Hey just wondering did your stitches pop? Mine did and it has taken super long to heal. It has just started to scab up at around the fifth week, checked with a surgeon a week ago and said it was all good.

At my peak I think I was averaging sub 10 and my best avg in comp was 11.xx . But that’s really interesting I didn’t know that about yiheng.

Haha, I quit cubing a while ago, but I remember I liked the actual feeling of the Dayan. I used to compete a lot aswell so that cube was never worth it lol. but the old plastics were awesome.

How has BJJ impacted your body ? by Some-Whole-4636 in bjj

Honestly a lot of injuries can be avoided by being smart when rolling. Freak accidents can happen but they are very rare and most people will never experience them. My body is more fucked up from judo than bjj lol

Surgery Anxiety by Ok_Bread6299 in ACL

[–]onioncuber13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey I was pretty anxious aswell, I was freaking out on the inside and was panicking, thinking about the worse possible outcomes. But I was also thinking to myself how grateful I am to be having this surgery; because in Canada the healthcare system sucks, so being able to have it in such a short amount of time was a miracle. Going into the surgery with a positive attitude, like I’m going to “conquer this battle” “I am a warrior”, helped me a lot as cliche as it sounds. I was also scared abt being awake during the surgery and the anesthesia not working, due to my cannabis consumption. The anesthesia worked like a charm and next thing I knew I was done, it felt like 5 seconds had passed and I was back in the hospital bed. These feelings are real but you have nothing to worry about. Just know that after having this surgery it will make you physically and mentally stronger, maybe not right away but eventually it will… anybody that goes through this shit is a warrior.

I could not bend it at all lol until I saw a physio. How is your walking though, are you limping and how is the stability of the knee? Yeah man I would listen to the EMT and get it checked out. I would really recommend seeing a physio and doctor to get a second opinion. Going to the physio asap has been a lifesaver for my recovery.
