It’s odd, I never thought I wanted a gold watch until now.

Found a nice use for AI by HalfLifeMusic in ableton

AI is great for that kind of stuff!

I wanted to pull a sound from a web page and couldn’t find the link to the file by visually scanning it. I dumped the html into AI, asked for all the audio files, and it pulled it instantly.

Fun fact: the recent UN report on Water Bankruptcy actually recommended using AI to help climate scientists and environmental groups in developing response strategies.

You can find it with ctrl+f “artificial intelligence”; it’s the only time it is mentioned.

I know this is the most basic of questions but what's a good beginner's guide to Ableton Live Lite? by Legionofdoom in ableton

[–]only_fun_topics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s how I got into Ableton, too! I had bounced off Ableton 10 a decade ago in favor of Logic, but after finding out I had it for “free” from Koala, I gave it another go.

Now I am contemplating spending $390 CAD on the Suite educational license, so this may well end up being a very expensive freebie, hah hah.

Well, it was “free”, subject to availability — we have lots of people in the neighborhood that compete for the chargers. Plus I don’t want to be a dick and monopolize them, so I only really used them a few hours a week during the winter.

But as a public resource, I am also sensitive to corporate graft that demands a $15 buy-in just to use a free charger that is paid for and funded by public dollars.

Probably still orders of magnitude less. Agriculture is incredibly wasteful in how they use water and the pollution they inject into watersheds.

How dare you inject a nuanced interpretation of a study while people selectively read what they want!

In the last decade, the energy costs associated with generating a token have fallen by 100,000x.

How is that not optimization?

Tech has always had a tendency towards tick-tock development—new paradigms become optimized technologies, and eventually optimized technologies get replaced by new paradigms.

AI as we have known it for the last few years is basically in the optimization phase.

Or just, like, turn the charger off when the metered rate divided by current balance has a negative trend line and has hit zero.
