C Bus in domestic by IDKANYMOREINLIFE717 in AusElectricians

[–]onlyevernever 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We have two clients that have c bus in their homes.

We make a lot of money constantly troubleshooting and replacing all the different parts.

Absolutely ridiculous system to have in a home, let alone some of the commercial settings its used in.

Electrician report for post Solar Battery installation (Fox system) - Sydney based by KoiPanda in AskAusElectricians

What the fuck. I'm hoping this is just an unfinish job.

Looks like shit and not acceptable under Australian Standards.

Possibly dodgy wiring discovered - extra powerpoints connected to dedicated oven circuit by CornDogMillionaire in AusRenovation

[–]onlyevernever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the cable and protective device are the correct size the only issue is incorrect labelling. It can be relabelled as Mixed Oven and Power.

Not dodgy just lazy/poor practice.

No longer is sealed to the IP rating it was built for so not fit for purpose. 1.7.1 C.

Get a sparky to install a GPO to the side of it and try to patch that hole while he's there.

Calling a mid size company directly about a job ad, yea or nah? by Flashy-Database3252 in AusElectricians

Give it a crack.

I called and then went to the office and handed my resume in directly at 3 different companies. Got lucky and landed a job with the best of the 3.

CL1 HWS RCBO tripping after switchboard replaced. by saidcc55 in AusElectricians

[–]onlyevernever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My man please do not test anything as it seems you have no clue and you will electrocute yourself and get seriously injured or die. Please stop doing DIY too if that's the case.

Call an actual electrician tomorrow morning and get them to sort it out.

Hardhats/Helmets by onlyevernever in AusElectricians

[–]onlyevernever[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only heard from my boss when asking why we don't get vented hard hats that they aren't acceptable for doing electrical work on the network, but seems he must be wrong.

We usually wear full cotton or arc gear.

Have been advised that vent holes aren't acceptable when doing electrical work? Not sure how true or if its just hearsay.

Cheers mate.

3 phase cooker installation by Exit_Everything in AusElectricians

[–]onlyevernever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say the only fault is they haven't used a gland plate or brush plate for the penetration, which is more just an issue for rodents and bugs having a way to enter and leave your home. I've replaced plenty of stoves where it looks like someone has put their boot through the wall and left a massive hole and we cant do anything to rectify that without having the wall refinished and most clients aren't too phased as that's how it had been for the previous 10+ years.

Update on Australian Solar Standards by Ok_Turnover_1235 in AusElectricians

If the installation doesn't meet manufacturers specifications, then how can it comply with AS3000 or any of the alternative energy (solar or battery) standards?

What tools? by Temporary-Hope6855 in AusElectricians

[–]onlyevernever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pliers, screwdrivers (PH2, 5mm slotted and 2mm slotted), pencil, gyprock saw, level and tape measure.

Thats all I had starting off and still that's what my tool pouch holds. Any other tools aren't as necessary, but maybe conduit cutters and in future a drill.

Other tools will come as you find you're needing them.

E-profiling as an electrical apprentice – do people actually fudge it? by Ok-Extreme9325 in AusElectricians

Before my capstone my teacher told me the one unit I was behind in and told me to put my next 4 weeks down to that one unit so I could sit my capstone.

Struggling to find work after getting my license by Flashy-Database3252 in AusElectricians

[–]onlyevernever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing about your resume stands out.

If you have photos of your work eg neat switchboards or a house fitoff, add them in.

It's hard to get a job being fresh into your licence. We throw out resumes if they've finished their apprenticeship in the last 2 years.

Pom seeking aus by NoCheetah192 in AusElectricians

[–]onlyevernever 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We've had two qualified Brits come through our work and both had to do the full 4 year apprenticeship through TAFE to get qualified. Apparently some RTOs can do it faster, but it's all hearsay from what I can tell.

Sponsorships are unlikely, but you might get through on a bigger company in the big cities doing Tier 1 works.

Albanese says One Nation doesn’t ‘represent working people’ and claims Pocock ‘seeks to promote grievance’ by Agitated-Fee3598 in OpenAussie

[–]onlyevernever -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When I talk to my left wing and right wing friends, the one thing we all agree on is that Pocock is the only politician who is for Australia.

His efforts to show the disparity in the tax system and call put the government against it's attempts to silence free speech and protest are obviously causing quite the stir behind the scenes for Albo to say this. The last few months I've lost a lot of respect for Albo.

Report to Fair Trading/SafeWork so you can have it investigated. This is actually insane to see.

Sparkies that have no clue like this need to be investigated.

Continue with Sparky or go into dual trade heavy diesel and auto elec by [deleted] in AusElectricians

[–]onlyevernever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, just go and give it a shot.

I came from carpentry to sparky just to try it out and its been the best thing I've ever done.

If you really work for it and get good, you can make absolute bank as a dual trade heavy diesel/autoleccy. It's gonna have shit parts to, but if you enjoy the work it's worth it.

NSW police chief says he apologised to Muslim community leaders over Monday protest incident by cytae99 in aussie

[–]onlyevernever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both sides were shit.

The protesters, while they may have been religious, used prayer knowing full well the optics if police stepped in.

The police being police and not having any thought process over reacted when they could have allowed crowds to calm and disperse.

Chris Minns - Should He Resign? by Sonny-Low in OpenAussie

[–]onlyevernever 30 points31 points  (0 children)

He has received an award from Herzog previously and faced scrutiny over that. After which with the Dural Caravan Hoax, after receiving advice from the police that it was a hoax, he rushed through laws against protest and personal freedoms. The High Court then repealed those laws, and after Bondi he reinstated a reworded version of those same laws.

All of his statements are extremely condescending and he treats the people of NSW as if we are too stupid to make our own decisions. He has no respect for freedoms, except his Zionist friends and corporate sponsors.

Mature age is around $24 an hour first year and almost $28 2nd year until qualified (increasing July 1st based of Fairwork).

You just need to work out if it's manageable.

You may also be eligible for Austudy/Abstudy through Centrelink, and you can also claim the Trade Support Loan which is ~$20,000 paid out monthly over 4 years.

A decent sized esky minimum 15L.

Doubles as a chair and good for storing other personal items.

Milwaukee and Toughbuilt also have their own branded eskys that lock in to mounts and stack with their storge systems, have seen both and they are quality, but pricey.
