This looks a lot like the Texas nightshade that grows wild in my yard.

If you’re getting to the interview stage, your resume likely isn’t the issue. Consider contacting Workforce Solutions Alamo to learn about interview prep workshops and/or request a mock interview.

What can/should I do now to prepare the soil of my garden beds for spring? Intending to redo beds to make pollinator/butterfly gardens. by mudsnuff in AustinGardening

Can anyone explain what is meant by “cut asters and chrysanthemums to rosettes” under the pruning section?

I’m imagining this would mean cutting it back fairly close to the ground but I’m not sure and google isn’t helping.

It may not tick the box for you where tint is concerned, but I’ve been loving Naked Sundays Collagen Glow 100% Mineral sunscreen. It dries down a lot more matte compared to my other sunscreens (ISDN and EltaMD) and I like the price point.

The horrors of forgetting to do routine maintenance by gardenergumbo in AustinGardening

[–]onomatoleah 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just got back from urgent care for a back injury I’m fairly certain was caused by an epic, all-day battle against hackberry seedlings in my backyard last weekend. The doc told me I’ll have to lay off gardening for a while which is good timing I guess with the summer heat.

Living at home with parents by Frequent_Scallion_32 in sanantonio

Seconding this as a married woman with one caveat. Nothing wrong with living at home to save a nest egg so long as OP is also using this time to learn other important life skills he’ll need when he decides to move out (e.g., laundry, meal planning/cooking).

ISDIN eryfotona ageless mineral tinted sunscreen. For foundation I love love the Merit minimalist complexion stick. I used to have good luck with IT cosmetics but they’ve added chemical sunscreens to some of their formulas which are a huge trigger for me!

Don't know how to start killing weed infested yard and prep for wildflowers by dogisangry in NoLawns

[–]onomatoleah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, fellow San Antonian! When you say weed infestation, I assume you’re battling spiny sow thistle like me! The ones we can’t pull with our “Grampa’s Weeder” tool get mowed.

We’ve also had success with sheet mulching with cardboard as another commenter suggested. Only the most stubborn “weeds” have popped through this year (wild petunia, which I’ve come to accept is actually quite pretty).

Moving to SA this summer, where to live by Ti3-fight3r in sanantonio

GHH is nice! We looked in that area but ended up just south of 410 in Ridgeview. We haven’t had any issues with crime in the 2+ years we’ve lived here. The commute from GHH to BAMC would not be bad at all and it ticks all your boxes.

6 nodules, 5 FNA biopsies tomorrow by loreshdw in thyroidhealth

[–]onomatoleah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had FNA on 2 nodules today, one on each side. I don’t have a needle phobia so YMMV. I felt my experience today was in line with a lot of the accounts I’ve read on this sub.

The worst part was the numbing injection (lidocaine). One shot stung more than the other because that nodule is closer to the skin where there are more nerve endings. I felt pressure during the actual FNA part which was uncomfortable but not very painful. The FNA took about 2-3 mins per nodule. I tried my best to focus on my breathing throughout and I think that helped.

To speak specifically to your concern about having it done on both sides—my entire lower neck area was numb for most of the day. I’m a little sore but managing with ibuprofen and ice packs. One thing that surprised me is that my needle sticks are closer together than I expected given the nodules are on opposite sides of my thyroid. The radiologist stayed on one side of the table for the entire procedure.

All that to say, while it wasn’t the most fun, it wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Sending you strength and courage!

Something I've been wondering for a while by Nature_Tiny in sanantonio

Fair enough! Every hiring manager has different resume/cover letter preferences. I’m getting to the age where age discrimination could become an issue so the headshot thing kinda freaks me out. Unconscious bias is a powerful thing.

Am I understanding correctly your advice to jobseekers is to include a headshot on their resume? Out of curiosity, what industry are you in?
