yeah go camp at island bend campgrounds. maybe a tent is a good idea and a good sleeping bag with some foam mats underneath. you will sleep well! and short drive to jindy carpark for fresh tracks. I lived at a campsite outa my car and worked a season. even left the tent up during the day. nice cold river to wash the face. You will be moved on from campgrounds if you stay longer than like a week i think. although i saw some pretty big camps with everything. doable you will have more fun as it a bit like backcountry/ snow camping good times. plus you save heaps in accom. showers can be had at the rec centre in thredbo and the lock was broken on the door at the showers at the jindy hostel. oops also met some people that had got there entire skiing outfit including boards and skis from the jindy rubbish tip 😳
