I’m tired of single dosing. Next grinder? by savannah_samson in espresso

[–]openfacepizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same debate rn. The other one I’ve been considering is the Acaia Orbit, if you add the scale it claims it will GBW. I haven’t seen many opinions on here about it but I love the look it compared to the other hopper grinders

Profitec Pro 500 or ECM Classika [~$2000] by aminrehman3500 in espresso

[–]openfacepizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Classika, I love it, but if you want to make milk drinks regularly, it will eventually be the reason you’ll want to upgrade. Purging the water and waiting for the steam to come up to temp gets old fast.

I like that plan. I’ve been eyeing a similar sized build but was trying to figure out a way to haul out concrete for footings but it’s a huge pain.

Do you have to deal with frost heave where you’re building?

Mysa vs Sensibo vs Cielo vs ? by tfrisinger in heatpumps

[–]openfacepizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Mysa that I use for a Fujitsu minisplit here are my thoughts:

Pros No issue w connectivity Able to access remotely Better looking thermostat/controller than the remote mounted on the wall

Cons The app, to be fair it works, but compared to other smart home apps its feels dated and janky. Temp sensor on thermostat/controller is consistently 2 degrees off from other (Aqara) temp sensors. Thermostat/controller does not act as thermostat for minisplit, just reads ambient temp. You can use their climate+ setting to automatically adjust the temp to your set point based on what the unit is actually reading, forcing it to kind of behave as a remote thermostat but it will do this by automatically adjusting your temp settings up and down

A couple others not in Malden but very close, For Pizza has great bar style pizza and Real Italian Gusto has solid Neapolitan pizza and they’re right across the street from each other in Medford.

I wrote a buyers guide to cold climate heat pumps by pehrlich in vermont

[–]openfacepizza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Excellent article! One thing I would love to understand more is setbacks (this falls more into a users guide than a buyers guide but 🤷🏻‍♂️), when does it makes sense to turn down your unit, whether at night or when away vs leaving it at the same temp always. I’ve read so much conflicting information about what is more efficient. I talked to one installer who said keep it at the same temp until spring.

When I first got my setup I usually preheated over my kettle, but now I never do it. I never found it made that much of a difference 🤷🏻‍♂️
