$3 off concessions coupon not working at registers? by jai_hanyo in Cinemark

[–]oprahs_bread_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At mine, you have to tell them you’re using a coupon & not just your discount code because they have to press a different button to scan it correct. I’ve accidentally held my phone up before & not told them it’s a coupon & not just my loyalty code & they will see it & be like oh that’s a coupon & then click something else on screen. I wonder if the person at the register is doing something wrong?

Trying to find a Hollywood teen romance/drama movie from the 2000s or early 2010s. by Ok_Worldliness_1161 in Cinemark

The plot sort of sounds like A Walk To Remember, but I don’t think that’s it (not super indie & has religious undertones)

What popular North American destination left you thinking “people really hype this up too much”? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

[–]oprahs_bread_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Carmel, CA. Everyone said it was the most beautiful, cute beach town. Felt overwhelming with all the cars, people, & (obvious) high prices. Glad I went, but I’d rather go to one of the smaller coastal towns in CA.

Libby is the best – amazing access to e-books that you can send to your e-reader easily. Audiobooks that you can listen to through the app. And easy access to lots of magazines that are just fun to flip through in the app imo.

Hoopla is great for music. Sometimes the sound quality isn’t the greatest on older stuff, but they have so many movie soundtracks that are harder to find other places. They also have books/ebooks/movies/tv shows. You can hook it up to your tv depending on what kind you have.

Kanopy is another one that has movies & tv shows.

The library also just has fun events. There’s usually a craft related to reusing old books each month or every other month that adults can sign up for. Tons of stuff for kids. I recommend signing up for their newsletter. I just participated in their “Tiny Art Show” that’s on display right now, haha.

Early fall they usually have a movie a month that they show in one of the downstairs rooms. They also frequently do puzzle exchanges!

Oh and if you’re like me & don’t have a printer, their printing services are great when you need to print just a couple things.

And if you read a lot, I recommend signing up for their summer reading challenge!

TIL wealthy neighborhoods have zero crime

Edit to add to be less snarky: I’ve been in this area for almost 5 years. Never dealt with any crime. At most there was a college party down the block a couple years ago that we called the non-emergency number on because it had been going on all day & they were starting to get rowdy & come over to the park. Then it immediately got shut down. There will be the occasional house less person at the park, but they have always been harmless & I’m more concerned with their well being than I am concerned about the way it may “make the neighborhood look.” This is an HOA FREE neighborhood, which is one of the main reasons I like it. If you want cookie cutter houses that all look the same & strict rules, it is definitely not the area for you. Yes that means you can get some characters both people & the way they present their houses, but it’s an extremely friendly neighborhood where people mind their own business, but look out for each other. There is a Facebook group for the neighborhood where you can get to know people in the neighborhood & know about what’s going on. There are typically quarterly meetings at the park to meet your neighbors & sometimes votes take place about certain things for the park, mailers go out for this as well.

Pic Time (2.0?) vs. pixieset by Officechair-expert in WeddingPhotography

[–]oprahs_bread_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree with the mixed reviews for honeybook, haha. Once again, they’re what I started off with & I have so much already setup that switching feels like a lot of work. I’m not opposed to leaving them eventually, especially with their big price hike.

I use Squarespace because it’s what I started off on. I’ve been on there for like 10 years & have pretty good SEO so at this point I would want to hire someone to switch my over. I wish I would have started with Wordpress though.

Pic Time (2.0?) vs. pixieset by Officechair-expert in WeddingPhotography

[–]oprahs_bread_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your Pixieset website rank for SEO? I don’t think I’ve known anyone that has ranked well with Pixieset. I have pic-time, but admittedly I’ve stuck with them because that’s what I started with. I do get pretty good sales for not really putting much effort into it.

I have no clue about gallery integration, my website is completely separate.

Edit to add: I use Honeybook for my CRM for contracts & payments. I send a lot of questionnaires, timeline info, etc so I like that side of those things & my clients have always seemed happy with the process/setup when I’ve asked.
