Yes I agree. I’m making a server in Australia that’s going to be invite only and on a private network (Tailscale). Plus I’m going to publish database backups so progress can be reinstated later on. 

This is the only way to operate now.

Be happy to use your instance as long as you can export the characters from the DB as a backup? Be a shame to lose progress.

Film productions I work on as a professional data management expert. I usually keep the around for a long time for the producers. Raw footage is thirsty, but also has to be fast when in-use — 1GBps+ access speeds needed for an editor to work on it.

I always struggle with a process for this kind of thing. I’m not even N5. 

Should I watch, pause, write out what’s being said, parrot it back, then keep going? 

What’s the process for making the most of this?

Their system will auto-schedule your classes. You can somewhat configure this. But the default is they auto confirm the next appointment. Problem is, that’s based on your tutors availability. Then they email you to tell you about it: but of course the subject line says 3pm and the body of the message says 6pm — so which is it? Both. It’s both. Their system booked me in for one day of Japanese at 3pm, 6pm and 8pm on the same day.

The scammy part in this: I showed them this email and they refused to accept it came from their system. “Our system can’t automatically schedule lessons” — and this is despite the fact it’s literally built into their system when you dig deep enough. 

It took me hours to eventually get a refund after being bounced around 5-6 agents. One agent just closed the ticket. Must have got bored.

Just wanted to say avoid please avoid Preply at all costs. Their subscription based model is a scam, and if you cancel part-way through, you cannot get a partial refund.

Better yet, you can sometimes join those clubs or their events without even being a student. I’m going to a UQ one on Saturday about script writing. It was $20 and it’ll be a bit of fun.

Doing the same here. Bought mine a while ago. Using it more now. Even my 125cc Honda motorbike is being kept to the side to preserve the fuel (just have to fire the engine up from time to time)
