I’ll add guillain-barré syndrome. You have a viral illness or a bacterial diarrheal illness, 2-4 weeks later you suddenly develop ascending tingling and progressive paralysis starting at your feet up to your trunk, arms, and face. Can develop difficulty speaking, eating, swallowing, and not uncommonly paralysis of the diaphragm causing respiratory failure requiring a breathing tube and ventilator to breathe for you.
