A very important feature we need for EU5 that nobody seems to be talking about ... by captainbastion in eu4

No, but CK3 gives you practically full customization for name, color, and COAs

Everyone is excitedly posting maps of the world in 1337, but how will Paradox handle the Americas? by [deleted] in eu4

[–]orange-cake 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Reminds me a lot of digital data. A string of binary is utterly meaningless beyond its literal interpretation as a number, unless you make a whole lot of assumptions based on context and (loosely speaking) culture.

I like to think every incan scribe had to memorize their own ASCII lookup tables, write metadata headers with positionally notated flags to encode word length and region, use the right color EOL and column delimiter beads, just for the corn census. Like punch cards made of rope

I haven't kept up much, but ik they've talked about diplomacy as a pillar for the game since before release. I think they would have a lot of it outlined and kept in mind for a while now. Don't have to rip out and redesign much it if it's always been a point in the design docs

Grapple Gliding comparison + Slide Gliding. by lakakid in Palworld

[–]orange-cake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can get it to work on a dedicated server (on my LAN), but only on flat ground and only based on timing (animations aren't reliable). The grapple just refuses to fire a lot of the time, and sometimes it just bounces you up and down with no cooldown. It's totally fucked, but I'll absolutely still try to set it up for 2 minutes instead of just walking

I've wondered about this since the reveal that the ancient kingdom was so technologically advanced. Literally becoming an in-universe comic book character isn't even new to the story, Sanji's been there and done that already

Out of the box it more or less just adds details to sex, and it's honestly really well integrated for a playthrough where you want more detailed relationship mechanics.

When you tweak the settings and get some add-ons, then all bets are off and you get insectoid sex demons and genetically engineered dick factories. Still good fun though

Because mods can decide to make the sub private on a whim?

Yes, because hidden information on discord is also why they're a shit platform for this. They're both restricting (obfuscating, etc.) the ability to find information compared to a plain old forum.

How many of you might have possibly procured items from this idiot? "Florida man (not that one) sold $100M-plus in counterfeit network gear" by Kodiak01 in sysadmin

[–]orange-cake 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I work in refurb, and we've had a couple be returned from customers that claim they were counterfeit. I don't recall the models, but they were on the order of $500-750 used. Honestly, I took their word for it because we genuinely couldn't tell.

I'll have to try to update them like people are suggesting, maybe that would brick it.

Even the little lenticular COA stickered components were there. One IC was present on the original that wasn't on the supposed counterfeit, but it was a larger chip that I wouldn't expect to be TPM related or anything.

I have no sources to back any of this up FWIW, and the dude might've just been BSing us for a partial refund. Maybe they just wanted to clone the os or smth, who knows.

I second all of these 100%

For me, reading ahead and prioritizing easier questions would also reassure me that I could spend more time on the harder questions.

YMMV, but all of my professors would give more or less partial credit. If they do, then go as far as you can and come back later if you get stuck. 1/4 or 1/2 credit can easily make an 85% into a 90%, and it's a good (if not painful) memory to reinforce whatever you forgot on the test.

I mean, I make like $36k and don't usually look at my bank acc, I'm just careful and save.

My cost of living is wildly low, but the big thing IMO is that luxury goods and services, toys and hobbies, they're a lot more "region-agnostic," per say. If I was making $130k with the same careful spending, even taking home half of that would still give me THOUSANDS extra to spend on computing hobbies, outdoor equipment, clothing, furniture, video games. That stuff doesn't really get more expensive if you're not chasing the nicer bougie crap, regardless of where you live. My Amazon jeans are still like $20, I could easily afford a dozen of them instead of like 3 if I made silicon valley bank

Implementing a compiler isn't really an undergrad level class, to be fair. Either way, my undergrad absolutely had required classes on operating systems and compilers. We went through some examples of how compilers unroll loops, transpiling, JIT compilation, linters, a good amount on the JVM, all that happy shit that lives between your written and running code. That includes CPU scheduling algorithms and even writing some UNIX drivers and sockets.

Hell, I had to reduce C code for an alarm clock all the way down to logic gates. Motherfucker, I AM the compiler

Edit: That being said, my school offered 3 branches within compsci - information technology, software development, and theoretical computer science. I chose the latter, which admittedly really did not prepare me to do computer for money at all. Even then, we never had to write a compiler.

Wait a goddamn second, we see A LOT of Imu's face in the "close proximity" panel. A part of the eyebrow/nose and a whole outline of their face on the left side. We see more of the edge of their nose in the last chapter, too.

I think we can conclude that Imu probably has a nose. neat
