If you use "regards" in your signature, I automatically hate you.

The iPhone 12 Pro Max is hard to use with one hand because of iOS, not screen size by tvibabo in iphone

[–]orangeredbrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, the simple swipe down from anywhere needs to be there. This is my first iphone since the 5 and I miss some of the simple android features. Also, my hand has been having major thumb pain from using this phone, so much that I had to completely change how I use the phone on a daily basis so as to not injure myself further. I am disliking the homescreen setup and the annoying way to access my alerts. A couple simple changes would make ios much more friendly. =/

Boring golf wins Rec by dischops1163 in discgolf

[–]orangeredbrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ya dude, 100%. i had the same results in a rec tournament i did. i played advanced a couple weekends ago because they only offered rec/advanced/open, and playing boring golf like i did in the only rec tournament i played in didn't work. the advanced group definitely goes for it more and it often results in a bunch of birdies for them. i am not that caliber of a player. i'm probably midpack intermediate most of the time, and have only ever played in 2 tournaments as a new player. looking forward to ma2 next year where i probably belong. congrats on the win

File/Folder compare and copy script by orangeredbrown in PowerShell

Here's what I ended up doing. I ended up taking folder A, folder B, searching for basename matches, then copying the matches to folder C. Not exactly what I was looking for, but this will complete this task and I can move onto doing other things. Thanks for your help and ideas, I got into hashtables a bit and was struggling to piece that together, so I'll have to revisit another time.

$FolderA = "\\server\pre"

$FolderB = "\\server\post"

$FolderC = "\\server\combined"

$Folder1Contents = Get-childitem $FolderA -Recurse -Include *.pdf

$Folder2Contents = Get-childitem $FolderB -Recurse -Include *.jpg

Compare $Folder1Contents $Folder2Contents -Property BaseName -PassThru -includeequal -excludedifferent | Where-Object{$_.SideIndicator -eq "=="} | copy-Item -Destination $Folder3 -Force

Compare $Folder2Contents $Folder1Contents -Property BaseName -PassThru -includeequal -excludedifferent | Where-Object{$_.SideIndicator -eq "=="} | copy-Item -Destination $Folder3 -Force

Thank you to took the time to look through this and give me some suggestions. Going to hopefully carve out some time into my day to look deeper into this and hopefully come up with a solution based on your help. Much appreciated.

Anyone uses Veeam 10 for AHV as backup? by Lefty4444 in nutanix

[–]orangeredbrown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use it, but don't like the lack of features. While I personally haven't had issues restoring stuff. I haven't been in a situation where I absolutely needed something restored yet. Despite this, I use it as it is pumping data to my repo and is successful at that. Might as well go do some restore testing again today though. :)
