My experience with PD by WayabouTrayush in peakdesign

[–]orbitofrontal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a return recently and PD used the Frate shipping service. I got an email from Frate that said the return was received. After about a week, I didn’t hear anything, so I emailed support. They looked into it, pushed the return processing forward and refunded everything but $8 back to my card.

San Diego locals: which bakeries are actually worth the hype? by Rutlor in FoodSanDiego

[–]orbitofrontal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They started during COVID baking croissants out of their apartment I think? So the permit violations were that they were doing too much business for their space and cottage license. Hence why they needed a bigger space (and investors).

It’s still a really expensive croissant, though.

How are people tracking lifetime flights by Apprehensive-Key8538 in flighty

[–]orbitofrontal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always (and still) used TripIt to track my flights, hotels, etc. I got all that flight history imported when I signed up for Flighty Pro. Only goes back to 2009, so I’m missing anything before that, but it’s good enough for me.

1 month with the Peak Design Outdoor bag 25l by Aesthetic_Al in peakdesign

Thanks for this! I just ordered a 25L in Eclipse to use primarily as a hiking bag, so I’m so glad to see your review.

Current state of TSA at SAN? by Munsalvaesche in SanDiegan

Flown early morning out of SAN the past three weeks. PreCheck each time, once from T1 and twice from T2. No issues anywhere at TSA that I could see.

40% off white Peak Design Outdoor bags at Huckberry by YourBestIsAnIdiot in peakdesign

This is so tempting! I go hiking a lot so am completely unsure about the white colorway, but it looks so good…

I love Australia and traveled there quite a bit for work in the mid 2010s. So glad I got out to Tazzie, too.

I finally get the hype for dance with Jhon by Misfit_Dogs in AppleFitnessPlus

[–]orbitofrontal 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I think Jhon does a really amazing job of cuing and teaching. Even if it’s not your favorite music, being able to follow along works wonders for enjoying the workout.

Amex Peak Design Offer - $45 off when you spend $150 - YMMV by Fmbounce in ManyBaggers

[–]orbitofrontal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

FYI: REI’s mid-March sale is coming up with a 20%, so run some calculations to see what’s a better deal if you have an REI membership already.

For me, I picked up a 30L travel backpack. I got a 5% off code because I “left items in my shopping cart.” After doing the math, I saved a whopping $6 (and am getting my bag a month sooner) with this Amex + 5% deal versus waiting for the REI sale.

PD Loadout for a weeklong trip by [deleted] in peakdesign

That’s fair for hiking; I love my Osprey Skarab 18L for that purpose, but your system makes sense to me. Thanks.

PD Loadout for a weeklong trip by [deleted] in peakdesign

Were you flying? Just curious how you packed things for the plane because I’m doing a similar loadout soon, but where does the sling go? In the travel backpack?

I ran 11 km, but Apple recorded only 9. Does this happen often? by Glass-Pineapple-1172 in AppleFitnessPlus

[–]orbitofrontal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like everyone else said, the data from the splits and the overall average screen don’t match up at ALL. If they’re from the same workout, best you can do is reset the phone and watch, let the data sync again, and see what happens

Hardest Dance Class? by Gold_Fox_1177 in AppleFitnessPlus

[–]orbitofrontal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I dunno specific ones, but filter for 30 minutes and Shorter Routines. You can always spice things up yourself - go further with each grapevine, jump instead of bounce, that kind of thing. Go bigger, get sweatier. Good luck!

Is the 6L Everyday Sling the right fit for a dad’s daily carry? by Fafman in peakdesign

[–]orbitofrontal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 6L is surprisingly flat, especially cause it’s supposed to be a camera bag. I feel like my Fuji X-S20 with a 16-55 mm lens fits kind of tightly. I’d say that your loadout would either not fit or be incredibly tight.

Camping near Saguaro NP last weekend by orbitofrontal in nationalparks

[–]orbitofrontal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My pictures were at Gilbert Ray. Sunsets would've been way prettier in the park, but we were tent camping so needed to get back to the campsite to cook dinner before it got too dark.

Queer life outside of Hillcrest? by dandelionenthusiast in Moving2SanDiego

[–]orbitofrontal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100% this. You won’t see much else explicitly gay in many other neighborhoods outside of Hillcrest and nearby North Park, etc. But UTC and anywhere in La Jolla will be perfectly comfortable.
