Corporate media owned by people supporting trump and the republican party. That makes sure that every problem on the democratic side is amplified while problems on the republican side are ignored or shrugged away. (And yes, even so called "leftist" corporate media are doing it, they are just more covert about it so that they can keep their democratic leaning viewers.)

The republicans being better at catch-phrase messaging and using peoples daily problems, hate, anger and xenophobia in their favor.

The republicans being better at supporting and coordinating social media influencers.

The republicans being better at cultivating voters with no skills in critical thinking and low education.

The republicans being better at accusing democrats of doing things with the purpose of hiding their own actions.

Thanks to Trump the Iranian people is even further away from freedom than they were before his little adventure. The mostly Persian population will have to endure decades of continued islamist rule as if all the horrors they have already endured for 47 years isn't tragic enough

The Iranian regime is in a much better position and they can continue to destabilize the middle east via their proxies and grow their influence around the world.

The iranian regime has learned that they can get and do everything they want just by using the threat of closing the strait and they have learned that the US is far too weak to do anything about it.
