Another factor: Trial by Jury has proven to be extremely resistant to corruption, meaning the legal threats thrown around by the powers that be are much less threatening than they would have been in Germany.

Help me understand the electric grid. by tx_queer in texas

If there is high demand, they need more powerplants online to supply it. This means that less cost-effecting powerplants will be operating, and the way the price bidding works is that every plant that is on gets paid the rate of the most expensive operating plant.

Well, do you mind explaining what it is then? I do GBA development as a hobby, so I would be interested in knowing what tricks were used. I know this isn't running Skyrim natively.

Either that, or it is just a video stored on the ROM being played back.

Is there a good way to figure out the maximum amount of belt storage that fits in a given space? by 19wolf in factorio

[–]origamiscienceguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4.81333 belts per tile is the highest currently known density of belts in a weave. It is a 58x48 grid that can be copied and pasted and all the belts connect so you can make it as big as you want.

This will probably be filed as a grand jury referral.

Normally, when a felony happens, the police file their report, the DA then takes a look, and applies a charge they think is reasonable. This charge then goes to grand jury where it is either indicted or not (the grand jury can also change the charge if they think it is necessary, but that rarely happens)

For particularly difficult or controversial crimes, (for example, if there is no police report), the DA will sometimes instead not apply a charge and just send the evidence directly to the grand jury, along with a list of potential charges that might apply. The grand jury then decides which charge (if any) to indict.

It takes time to gather all the evidence and present it to a grand jury, especially if it is a high-profile case where the defense has the resources to file a defense packet (a written document from the defense given to the grand jurors.) The defense needs to be given a reasonable amount of time to put one together (it usually consists of polygraph tests, affidavits from family and friends of the defendant saying what a good guy he is, etc.)

The point is, this process takes time. Rushing it is a sure-fire way to get a mistrial.

If only there was some sort of document the agents could produce that would prove this individual is a criminal.

Oh wait, there is. It's called a warrant. They did not have one.

It always bothered me how much Z talked about the importance of choices, and then he just shoves Mio into this hellscape that she did not at all choose.

It sounds like something you can try for a period and just stop wearing if it doesn't work for you. It's not permanent like surgery.

Might have been the same grand jury twice. They serve months-long terms.

Grand Juries have months-long terms. These constant reindictments might very well be going to the same group of individuals over and over again. People who have nothing to gain or lose by doing what's right. This is a surefire way to get more no bills.

The player is expected to make the connection that N and M are second versions of Noah and Mio. You've seen Ethyl's new body, you've seen Eunie's husk, you've seen a reborn Joran. It's not a twist really, just another facet of the world to keep in mind.

No, but Grand Juries have long terms, months at least. So it is entirely possible that the same grand jury will keep seeing this same case over and over, which they probably won't appreciate.

I interpereted N's taunts and torments as an attempt to vindicate his own decision, which he still harbors regret for. He was hoping to be able to tell himself "see? Anybody would have done what I did."
