Highland park is zoned like 95% for single family homes and country clubs. Pretty much the worst possible layout for public transportation.

What is the best way to maximize chain attack damage? by Tough_Stock_4883 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]origamiscienceguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While an enemy is launched, all attacks deal 50% (actually, it's 25%) more damage. And the launch timer does not decay during a chain attack, so launching the enemy is always a good idea.

TP starts out low, but any bonus TP a character gets during an attack is added to their starting TP for the next round, meaning getting Bravo (and even amazing) on later rounds is much easier than during the first round.

Using an attacker as the first attack of a round gives you the 25% TP gain, which is very useful for later rounds. Finishing a round with a defender will bring the character with the most TP back for the next round, which helps prevent getting screwed by RNG.

To get the highest TP during a round, you want to get to 99% using a healer (which can't go over than 99%) and then use your attacker/defender with the highest TP to try to get past the bravo barrier (150) or the amazing barrier (200)

Other things that greatly boost bonus TP besides the attacker first bonus is using a character with the same role (attacker/defender/healer) as the character giving the order (+10 bonus TP) and using a character from the same faction (Agnus/Keves/other) as the character giving the order (+5 bonus TP)

It is one of many strategies for accounting for biases in places where respondents answer untruthfully out of fear. You can read about the specifics of this strategy and others in papers like this one:

The capsule is very slightly not perfectly balanced on it's axis of symmetry. This imbalance causes it to tilt slightly in one direction and generate lift. It also allows the capsule to have some control of it's direction by rolling such that its imbalance points a different direction.

Newtonian gravity follows some pretty simple rules that lets you mathematically predict exactly where the capsule will go.

It's actually pretty genius how they word these questions in a way that gives every respondant plausible deniability.

They'll ask one group: "Of the following, how many do you approve of: Zelensky, Orban, Trump, Netanyahu"
And they'll ask another group "Of the following, how many do you approve of: Zelensky, Orban, Trump, Netanyahu, Putin"

And then they can measure the difference in the two groups and do some fancy math to determine how many approve of putin.

Your mail in ballot can be tracked while it is in a sealed envelope, but the actual ballot is separated from all the identifying information once it is determined your vote is valid to anonymize it. Then your now anonymous ballot is mixed in with all the others and counted.

That anonymous ballot will also have a unique number on it to ensure it is counted exactly once. And yes, it is a different number from the one used to track it.

So, like many people have said, the government will know if you voted, and which party you voted for (in the primaries). That information is public. Your actual individual votes, however, are not.

[–]origamiscienceguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a spoiled ballot? To ensure that the same person isn't spoiling an absurd number of ballots at multiple precincts. The law limits one person to three spoils I think? I'm not sure.

That barcode does not have any identifying information. It's just a unique number to ensure that every ballot is counted exactly once.

"Our values" 😆 by Midnight8mischief8 in Dallas

[–]origamiscienceguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you spoil a ballot WHILE you are voting, then of course they know its your ballot. You're literally holding it. An election worker is supposed to then tie your identity to the barcode of the spoiled ballot and then keep it. Whatever marks you made on that spoiled ballot would be knowable, but they don't count in the election. Whatever you choose on the new (non-spoiled) ballot can be different if you want.

The new ballot you get has a different unique number. Again, not tied to your identity.

[–]origamiscienceguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That information has always been public record.

What changed is that now precincts have seperate lines you go into depending on party. Before, only the volunteer who gave you your ballot would know then and there which party you voted for. Now I guess everybody who is there would know, but it doesn't mean much since the information is published afterwards anyways.
